Hey yall, it's been a hard summer on our herd and we had to make another emergency trip to the vet. One of our older mares, Gypsy, had a very painful asthma attack triggered by the wild fire smoke. She is now on medication to help but could really really benefit from an equine nebulizer. This machine would also help the rest of our herd get some relief from this hazardous air. For all 2k of you that are new to this page, I've been getting a LOT of messages about buying our horses. We do not adopt out our horses ever. Most of our horses have medical needs that need a lot of care, we provide that for them.

Over the past month or so we have gotten a massive amount of new followers, over 1k and I'm not entirely sure why as we have gone fairly inactive on this page. For those of you genuinely here for the mustangs (horses not cars), welcome. For those of you here for other reasons, see yourselves out please.

A little about us, we have a small herd of rescued mustangs (and one quarter horse) that have all come from various bad situations or we took in to prevent them from ending up in a bad situation. Most are seniors with special needs that require extra care. We do not adopt these horses out and due to hay prices and other inflation, we are not taking anymore in either. Feel free to comment any questions.

This is a no drama page, I am very suspicious of the influx of new people and will not hesitate to block anyone. But if you enjoy updates on happy old horses please stick around 💙.

I keep forgetting about these lol!

Today we have Gypsy. Gypsy is 18 years old and out of Fish Creek HMA, just like our lovely Nova. Gypsy came from a very loving home but due to her pervious owners health declining and Gypsy's own special needs, she landed with us to live out her days. Gypsy has some pretty extreme cushings and IR but she lives very comfortably with proper diet and medication. Gypsy is still rode from time to time but for the most part enjoys her retired life.

Today we have Jolene.

Jolene is an 18 year old QH. She is one of our 3 domestic horses. She is sweet as pie and a really good buddy for our old man, Caspian. She is very broke and still loves to hit the trails. Jolene is a bit moon blind but she isn't overly bothered by it.

Today we have Jade.

Jade is 5 years old and from the Warmsprings Reservation. Jade has a very dramatic past that we won't get into here, she's had to be rescued more then once. Now she is healthy, happy, and ready to start her training under saddle. Jade, like the rest of our horses, is not adoptable. She will live out her life with us.

This next horse is Caspian.

Caspian is half mustang, half QH. He is a sweet old man (30+) that's missing quite a few teeth. He doesn't let that slow him down though and still loves packing kids around. Cas gets "soup" meals due to his inability to chew hay properly. Other then his teeth hes in great health for his age!

Now we have Gracie.

Gracie is a 20 year old draft cross, one of our very few domestic bred horses. Gracie has been with us on and off since she was 12. She has had a few adopters but has always found her way back too us. Now she is here to stay, mostly retired with some light riding. Gracie has always been an amazing confidence booster for people that may of lost theirs with horses. Soon she will start electric chemotherapy treatments for the sarcoids she has popping up all over.

Today we have Dante!

Dante is 8 years old and been with me since he was 8 months old. He is a Warmsprings Reservation mustang. Dante is the one that started it all! He is the one that made me fall in love with mustangs. Dante is currently in training to be an all around saddle horse and I can't wait to get him home!

Today we have Nova.
Nova is also 24 years old and has been with River Run since she was 16! She's out of Fish Creek HMA and we bid against a kill buyer at auction for her. Nova is still very sound and still enjoys going down a trail. She is cushings positive and insulin resistant so her diet is watched very closely.

Next up we have Hank!
Hank is 24 years old and been with us for a little over 2 years. He's from Goshute HMA in Nevada and we found him for free on Craigslist. Hank is one of the sweetest geldings and very mannerly. This year Hank was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on his p***s. He had a perineal urethrostomy done and now urinates more like a mare. Hank lives a very normal and happy life with no real after care needed.

So I've come to realize that yall haven't met all our horses yet. Now that my health is much better, I thought I'd post some "meet the mustangs" posts on our current residents.

Let's start with Mystery.
Mystery has been with us for 5 years and is 20 years old. She is from Fox Hog HMA and come to us from Sunnyside kill pen. Mystery was diagnosed with PTSD like symptoms from past traumas. Though she is very sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly, she prefers to he left alone, which we very much respect.

Star is a 5 year old titled Beatys Butte mustang mare. 15.3 to 16hh, this girl is massive for mustang and well built. She has had some professional training, will saddle up, but needs an experienced training home to continue the work. Star is very intelligent and is not a beginner horse. She is also a very dominant mare and needs to be introduced to new horses slowly. This mare will excell in any discipline in the right home.

Owner will consider trades for something a bit older, shorter, and broke. Feel free to pm me with questions and price and I can relay them to the owner if I cannot answer them. Located in Terrebonne, Oregon.

Hope everyone is having a good summer so far! The herd is doing well and seem to like the climate over here (central Oregon) lot better. Hank has fully recovered from his cancer surgery and Gracie will soon be going in for a sarcoid removal. Unfortunately, I was also diagnosed with cancer and haven't been able to spend much time with the horses while I'm doing chemotherapy.
I'd like to remind everyone that sadly we are not rescuing at this time. Due to my health (which will get better) and hay prices (which hopefully will get better...) we cannot responsibility take on any more horses. Hay is $400 per ton right now and unfortunately if prices do not drop in the future we may not be able to resuce again. It's a very scary thing for a lot of rescues and horses/livestock owners. That being said, let us know if you'd like to sell your last year's hay!

Good news! Hank has had his surgery and is doing well. For those that don't know Hank was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma on his p***s. He has now had a pe**le amputation and a permanent perineal urethrostomy done. Meaning he will now permanently urinate more like a mare. He is adapting quite well and very displeased about his confinement while he heals.

Hank the Roany Pony has been confirmed to have squamous cell carcinoma 😢. Our vet is very confident he would do well with surgery to remove it. We could really use help with his surgery cost. Thank you all for your support, we will keep you updated on progress.
