Beaters day yesterday myself and Charlie had a great afternoon still working on progressing his training while getting to work some fantastic braken and bramble which he did really well. He is still only 20months old so plenty still to learn. He has a great temperament that can cope well with sitting quietly on the peg whilst birds are flying over and being shot proving his level head and easy temperament which makes him a dream to work with ☺️

Although I'm incredibly pleased and proud of Charlie's progrestion in his first trialing season. Achieving an open win in his first trial and a diploma in merit a month later at the championships.
I still feel like there is plenty of progression and improvement available within this young dog's grasp. Young dogs will always continue to change its making sure that we keep our training up with their natural progression so that we don't get cought out as they go up through the gears and start to become street wise ☺️

So my self and Charlie have just finished the 2025 Cocker championships🐾
As some of you may know I was very lucky in qualifying Charlie at just 19 months old in his very first trial consequently meaning Charlie was the youngest dog qualified at this year's championships.
The cover the last two days was fantastic mainly laid bracken with plenty of game and at some points there were hundreds of birds,we had our first run early on on the first day during a period when alot of dogs were getting tough runs due to the shear amount of birds getting up but we managed to get through unscathed.
We were first dog in again on the left-hand side on the second day where I ended up having three retrieves two c**k bird's and a Partridge with him handling well under a lot of pressure. It's definitely a lot tougher running at the championships when there are so many people in the line it can make it tough on the dogs to pick you out. Any way I was very pleased with how Charlie went, I couldn't ask for much more with such a young dog. Of the 47 best dog in in the country that qualified he made it through to the last , 14 on day two. Im so pleased we managed to come away with a diploma of merit which I couldn't be more happy with. It was a fantastic two days even though it was incredibly cold but what fantastic ground. Thanks for all the support from clients and friends and the messages of support have been fantastic.
