August 15 is “Check your Chip” day!

Today is a reminder for all pet owners to verify their pet’s microchip information is current and to update any old, outdated information.

If your pet is ever lost, their safe return can be much faster and easier if they are microchipped. Here’s a simple 3-step process to help guide you.

1. Get your pets microchipped. This is easily done in seconds and is painless to the animal. The microchip is simply inserted under the animal’s skin.

2. Register your pet’s microchip ID #. This is free and easy to do. Registering the chip ID number simply adds the pet owner’s contact information to the pet’s unique chip ID in a national database.

3. Verify the registration information is kept up-to-date. Update any outdated owner, address, or phone number information regularly.

Microchip registration is free. While there are paid services offered by chip manufacturers, you do not need to pay for services for your pet’s microchip to work. Just be sure to register the chip with the most current owner info and keep that information is up to date.

We also want to remind you to ask your vet to verify your pet’s chip during their next vet visit. A simple chip scan can be easily performed and will verify the chip can still be found and is still working.

🚨FREE Pet Emergency Stickers🚨while supplies last.

If there’s an emergency at your home while you’re away, be sure the emergency responders knows your pets are inside.

Place ‘Pet Alert’ stickers on or near your front door in a visible location. If your pets are crated or in cages, be sure to note that on the sticker as well. Notes such as “dogs crated living rm” or “pet cages in family rm” help a lot.

These stickers help first responders know you have pets inside your home, what kind, and how many.

Code3 has a limited number of these stickers we will mail you for FREE. Just message us your name and shipping address. ***Please DO NOT put your address in the comments below.*** Limit 2 per household please.

Pet Alert stickers can also be obtained from your local fire department for free, or from Amazon, PetSmart, WalMart, or other retailers at a small cost.

Help firefighters save your pets. 👨🏻‍🚒

What a day our ambassadors, Bella and Akira, had!

They visited the 2024 Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Company and Upper Makefield Township Police PBA ‘Christmas in July’ Food Drive event at Brownsburg Park in New Hope PA.

They made lots of new friends, got their photo on a fire engine, got lots of pets and head rubs, and even got a picture with Summer Santa! 🐾❤️🎅

Thank you to Officer Murphy from the Upper Makefield Township Police Department for taking the time for a photo, and to all the members of the Upper Makefield Township Fire Company for their hospitality and for hosting the event to help the community.

This was the first year for this event and we hope the turnout and food donations were beyond expectations! See you in 2025!

Today is ! It's the perfect time to plan ahead on how to keep your pets safe in case of a fire. 🐶🐱

🔥 Keep pets away from all open flame sources like fireplaces, firepits, and candles.
🔥 Have a rescue plan and make sure everyone in your home knows it. Establish a family meet-up place nearby.
🔥 Make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working and have fresh batteries. Batteries should be change every time you change your clocks.
🔥 Keep leashes, crates, and carriers accessible at all times. Slip leashes are great for a quick grab-and-go.
🔥 Inform rescuers of your pets by using pet emergency stickers in an easily seen place. These stickers should indicate how many pets are in your home.
🔥 Make sure your pets are microchipped in case they escape. Firefighters that have to come into your home during an emergency may leave a door open without knowing there are pets inside. The open door is your pets chance to escape the emergency.

You can purchase pet emergency stickers on Amazon or ask your local fire department.

Code3 also has a limited supply of emergency stickers that we can mail to you while supplies last. Just message us a name and mailing address. 👨🏻‍🚒

No matter which side of the political aisle you are on, the events of this weekend should deeply disturb you. There is no place for this type of violence anywhere, for any reason.

Code3’s roots, along with our name, stems from the emergency services. Our President and Founder is a former firefighter.

Corey Comperatore was part of this brotherhood as a volunteer firefighter and a former Chief of a department in Buffalo Twp., Pennsylvania.

Corey was killed by an assassin’s bullet at the rally in Butler PA on Saturday.

Our heartfelt condolences to his daughters, his wife, his mother, and the rest of his family. We salute you for your service to your community and honor you as a Hero for everything you did to save others, not only on Saturday, but throughout your life.

RIP Corey. We’ll see you in the blue skies. 🌹

❤️🐾 Welcome to NJ, Hyde 🐾❤️

At just 6-months old, Hyde found himself on the euthanasia list at an overcrowded shelter in NC. His sister had found a foster home so she was safe, but not Hyde. He was scheduled to be euthanized on July 3rd.

Voorhees Animal Orphanage in Voorhees NJ jumped in and offered to pull him just as his time was about to run out. They reached out to Code3 to coordinate transport from NC to NJ and we worked as fast as we could to help.

We had one weather postponement which made everyone here at Code3 nervous for Hyde, but we were able to reschedule for the very next day and get him flying. We all exhaled a huge sigh of relief.

Once in the air and after checking out the white fluffy clouds for a while, Hyde slept most of the way to NJ. He knew he was finally safe.

Thank you to Captain Dante and Captain Hillel for flying this sweet and adorable little boy north. We appreciate you donating your time and your planes on Thursday.

Thank you to the NC shelter for being patient, allowing Hyde the extra time to be pullled, and to Sean and Chassidy, for helping get him to the airport.

And of course, THANK YOU to Denise, Carol, and everyone at Voorhees Animal Orphanage for rescuing him so he could get a second chance at life to find his loving forever home, and for picking him up at the airport. 🙏❤️

Animals are at risk of euthanasia like Hyde all over the country today at an alarming rate. If you’d like to help save animals like Hyde, there are a few things you can do:

First, FOSTER. This is so important. Fostering puts the animal in a safe home and frees up a kennel for another animal. Expenses for fostering, such as for food and any medical expenses, are paid for.

DONATE. Funds can be used to pay for a temporary housing at a kennel and get them out of the shelter. It also helps cover any medical costs that might be needed.

VOLUNTEER. Become an extra pair of hands at your local shelter or rescue. They sure can use you.

ADOPT. Everyone wants the animals saved from euthanasia. Rescues will do that part. But then they need YOU to adopt and give a loving home to these rescued pets, like Hyde, so the rescue can save more!

If you’d like to consider adopting Hyde, or any other available dog or cat at Voorhees Animal Orphanage, please checkout their page or their website. They’ve done the hard work saving the animal, now they just need you.

Have a happy and loved life, Hyde. ✈️❤️🐾

And don’t forget about wildlife. Our area here in NJ has been very dry. Setting out a shallow dish of water, refilling the bird bath, or even a sprinkler gives our wildlife a refreshing drink and a way to cool off.

If you’re vacationing with your pet, make it easy for someone to return them should they get lost.

It’s a good idea to place a tag on their collar with your cell phone number and your vacation address. You can also use a sharpie to write this info on your dog’s collar.

Just a few dollars and a few minutes of your time could make the difference for a quick and safe return. ❤️🐾

❤️🐾 Welcome to Maryland little ones ❤️🐾

A HUGE shoutout and thank you to Captain Jim and Captain Hillel for flying a momma and her pups from South Carolina to Maryland on Sunday, dodging thunderstorms and dealing with extreme heat along the way!

Captain Jim got started bright and early Sunday morning to fly from Suffolk VA to SC to load up, then fly the family back to Suffolk to meet up with Leg 2 pilot, Captain Hillel. Hillel then flew the pups the rest of the way to their final destination of Baltimore MD.

This beautiful fur family was initially saved by the always amazing staff and volunteers at our shelter partner, Colleton County Animal Services and Friends of Colleton County Animal Shelter. Even though they’re bursting at the seams, they always find a way. We hope they know they’re our heroes! ❤️🐾

The fur families’ final destination was Canine Humane Network in Highland MD just outside of Baltimore who is a new rescue destination for us. So we want to say thank you and show our appreciation to them as well for pulling this family from Colleton and opening up space that can save another dog.

And finally, we need to say thank you to Allison and Angele for adjusting their schedules and driving a greater distance to alternate airports allowing Jim and Hillel to dodge possible bad weather. We appreciate your time and effort today to make this a safe trip for everyone!

The fur family arrived safely in Baltimore at 2:18pm. After a good drink to rehydrate and some yummy snacks, they were on their way to their foster home for the night where they will get a good rest, some cold AC, and a whole lot of lovin’ ❤️

Anyone interested in this very lovable momma or any of her pups, can reach out to Canine Humane Network at their website below.

Have a happy and loved life! ✈️❤️🐾

We had such a blast Saturday at the 2024 Allaire State Park Ducky Derby! We cheered on quite a few ducks, but were a little biased in cheering on #13 who was sponsored in part by NorthStar VETS. It was a fun time for all ages. Food trucks, animals, vendors, all the interesting shoppes and presentations hosted by The Historic Village at Allaire and their volunteers, and of course ducky derby races!!!

There were lots of places to get out of the sun and into the shade to rest and rehydrate, because it did get a little toasty in the afternoon. Thank you to all the 2024 sponsors who helped make this event so much fun and to all the volunteers who worked so hard in the heat, but still smiled and had fun the entire time.

Look for a Code3 sponsorship in 2025 and a few ducks you might just recognize like Duck-Kota, Duck-Kira, Duck-Bella, Duck-Princess, Duck-DJ and others that could win you some really cool prizes! 😃 ❤️ 🦆

See ya in 2025!!

As of 4:40PM ET, New Jersey had what is called The Longest Day of the year and will celebrate the official start of summer.🏖

June 20th has 5 hours and 46 more minutes of daylight than the Winter solstice in December, or what we call “The Longest Night.”

Enjoy the extra daylight and the sunshine!

HAPPY SUMMER! ☀️ 🌴😎

Not sure why we have to remind people constantly of this, but PLEASE do not leave pets (or kids) in your car for any length of time! Inside the vehicle temps could hit fatal levels in just 5 minutes.

If you come across a pet (or child) inside a car, police advise to call them and to take photos of the vehicle license plate and the entire car and stay with the car until police arrive. If the pet appears in distress, call 911.

Leave your pet home in this heat. 🥵
