🌟 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST! 🌟

Our incredibly talented little superstar, Fawn, has just been mated to sir Sebastian. (Pics to follow)
This will be her final litter, bred purely for us to keep a pup back from one of the best wee girls we’ve ever had the pleasure of owning and working.

Emptying my camera roll as our season comes to a close. Hope I haven’t doubled up on any pictures, I got very slack at taking them in the last few weeks!
R***r, Weasel and I have been trying to cram in a bit of last minute trialling training ready for 4 days of trials next week.
It’s such a hugely different ball game for them after spending all season working for entire days, pacing themselves, working as a team and kicking on to find every last bird, like I require of them, to then having to stop to flush, shot, hunt tight to me etc. two very very different disciplines! Here’s hoping the few days I’ve managed to cram some training in, will pay off! 🤞
So incredibly happy with my lovely, incredible team this season. We have had SO much fun.
Enjoyed getting our young springer, Fearann, out for her debut on our last day. She absolutely smashed it making some lovely retrieves at just 9ish months old. 🥰

Merle coat pattern is not a cocker breed pattern - it never has been … until recently. Now they are popping up here and there and people are paying silly money for this coat pattern … another breed like Collie or Dachshund will have to have been bred in (illicitly if KC registered) and you cannot register a pedigree Cocker with this coat pattern. Merle is NOT Roan which is a Cocker colour and is very different to Merle - which is a pattern not a colour. This coat pattern comes with serious linked potential health risks … like this blind pup here … causes deafness and other health issues too. Breeders are charging a fortune for these cross breeds … no one should breed health risks IN responsible breeders are trying to breed health risks OUT

I can’t believe this, but we very unexpectedly have two (!) puppies available due to people on our list just not being quite ready, or the pups not being quite what they are after colour or gender wise.
So if you’re looking for a proven working line working cocker spaniel, from awesome parents who both work their hearts out 8 months of the year, 7 days a week, and an FTW father, then do get in touch.
Puppies are hereditary clear for PRA, AMS, PFK, DM, FN and registered with dogsNZ.
Committed homes only apply please! Understanding of the breed and their needs. These are working spaniels so they need a ‘job’ to do, whatever the job may be. 😊

These gorgeous munchkins had a rough start with mumma Goose not producing any milk. I syringe fed them for a few days while also bringing all the other girls in at different stages, to meet them and see if anybody would start to produce milk.
Our Meg and Silver would do this, and have both helped to raise other puppies in the past, as foster mums. But with them now being in their incredible retirement homes, I was seriously praying somebody would fill in their footsteps.
Enter Tully 🥹 my sweet little angel Tully tots, got straight in, started curling herself around them, and pushing them into her tum. They started to latch and eventually, after almost 36hrs, in came some milk.
Between Tully and myself, we have raised these little cuties to where they are now. So I’m feeling very proud! (But also feeling thankful it was only 3!)

(Also note the little white nosed boy looking so much like his grandad Noel and Uncle Otis! Strong genes here coming from Noel’s side!)

Owners get me on the end of the phone for the rest of their puppies life for help with any training or behavioural needs. You will be added to our Facebook messenger group with 7 years of Matagouri puppy owners, siblings, cousins, uncles, aunties etc.
She is a busy bee, a bundle of energy with beautiful eye contact and huge desire to please. She will be so much fun to train and would excell in any discipline. She is a keen carrier of objects, always has her nose down hunting, and comes from a long line of excellent, proven working dogs.

In the last few years I’ve, on occasion, had people question our prices. Which is fine of course! But just to answer publicly - The price of our puppies doesn’t even cover the food keeping these dogs all in tip top condition. Let alone mums extra food through pregnancy and whilst feeding them, puppy food, vaccines, worming etc. Not to mention standard vet bills, all sent off health tests etc. we do this because we love it, we adore these dogs, and mostly, honestly, we just need to keep youngsters up and coming in our own team but unfortunately you can’t ask a bitch to produce just one puppy haha!
That’s all, enjoy some pics 😄❤️

Oh ps. (You’ll often pay a darn sight more for an unregistered and unhealth tested dachshund, or doodle breed from someone’s back yard - just saying!)

Taking expressions of interest now for our next mating, later in 2023, Goose and R***r.
Goose is Andy’s go-to-girl now out dogging-in and beating, since her mother Meg retired. She is an extremely quick learner, brave and confident. she hits cover hard and won’t give up until she finishes the job. Added to her exceptional work ability, she makes a truly wonderful pet and friend too. With a great off switch she is happy to relax in the house and just hang out.
R***r is my wonderful best pal. He can turn his hand to anything this dog, he is up to FTW in field trialling, rock steady on the peg, and an extremely reliable finder out picking up. Another dog who won’t quit until the job is done. Also with a brilliant off switch, R***r will relax in the house, potter around the garden, and is wonderful with our 1 year old.
As usual the pups will be hereditary clear for PRA, AMS, PFK, DM, FN and registered with dogsnz etc.
Owners are also added to our Matagouri pups Facebook group which means you can keep up with siblings, other family members, share goals and achievements, pictures and videos etc. And I am on the end of the phone for the rest of your dogs life, with any help or advice you may need.

If you have an active lifestyle and understand the needs of these active wee working bred dogs, who require plenty of mental stimulation and training, along with physical exercise, please get in touch 😊

Okay guys, my sweet little boy ‘Grey’ needs a hunting 🏠 ! He’s bloomin special, with great style already, lovely action, exceptional eye contact and already so eager to please. Mum and dad are fully health tested, FTCH bred from imported uk lines. Both exceptional proven workers full time in the field, both owned by us.
