This school holidays has been a bit of a mix bag for me ...

I came down with a virus at the beginning of the holidays leaving me paralysed on the left hand side of my face and lack of hearing in one ear.

Slowly but surely I'm recovering and now feeling the best I have in weeks ... the support I've had from friends and family has been overwhelming ❤️ thank you, thank you, thank you ( u know who u are ❤️ )

It's saddle fitting and alteration time for my tribe.

Although I'm a qualified saddle fitter, I don't do any alterations so if I'm ever in need of work to be done Laura is my girl ! We usually bounce off each other with the decisions, and it's always a lovely feeling to know all my ponios r happy under saddle.

Remember horses change constantly! If you had a saddle that fitted once it's not always a given it will fit for life . . .prime example my Ice Girl has had her saddle jump saddle for the past 5 years it's been flocked to suit her ever changing shape and suited her beautifully, but as from the beginning of the year I felt the frame ( tree of the saddle ) is now too wide. Yup confirmed today that Laura feels the same! Good job I haven't ridden in it since I felt this. New saddle needed yay !!!

Teaching my girlie's about the importance of a correctly fitting saddle and the owners responsibility ( i.e them !) to notice or to have it checked at least twice a year.

It's the job of the owner - rider ! Don't ever wait for the horse to express to you often it's too late then ! Would you like to wear a pair of shoes too tight or too big ???

A busy week helping owners with their horses 🐎 ❤️ I must say I do love my job 😀

Here is Jet ... His behaviour recently changed and his owners reached out to me.

2 treatments and a different saddle, which I sourced and Laura Bourne ( master saddle fitter ) has been to fit and adjust accordingly.

Jet is on a work plan to help with the tight areas across his back and I'll be back to check on his progress is a few weeks time.

Really happy to say ....We are on the road to recover 😀 this little chap was rather sore and uncomfortable... onwards and upwards for both rider and pony 🙌

So with children i've found over the years it's always a case of trying to build their confidence until finally 💥 away they go and for my girls it's no different.... here's Kyra absolutely terrified about cantering up the hill with her boyo Toby ( who is a legend!)

So off we went coaching all the way and 💥 she was so happy with herself when she got to the top ... but man alive it's a struggle at the best of times for the coach !

Big shout out to all the mums - dads - grandparents- whoever inspires the younger generation 💪 💪 💪 building their confidence 👏 🙌 😀 🙏

A not so impressed Olivia after school with my suggestion.... but a worth while session of no reins trying to encourage a more secure seat and rider balance 😉 she loves me really lol 😆 😉 😄

Heads up .... any saddle that has Cair panels ( air instead of flock ) is at risk of deflating through puncture or simply old age.

I've been to a few saddle checks lately which have needed new Cair panels. Always remember to check the panels yourself or get a qualified saddler to.

Sadly a saddle that is not in balance, ill-fitting and or not suited to yours horses shape can result in poor performance and PAIN. Do the right thing by your horse and get your saddles checked at least once a year :)

Jo was absolutely amazing today for my daughters pony, so positive & helpful with finding her a suitable gullet for her saddle as well as giving her an amazing treatment. Highly recommend and will be using again for our other ponies 😊
