Hello! I’m Phoebe the happy, low-maintenance, outdoor-loving dog you’ve been looking for. I love going on walks and exploring the area and while I don’t love too much puppy energy, I’m always excited to meet new people and their dogs! Did I mention I’m pretty easygoing? I’m happy to adjust my schedule to match yours and I’m pretty good at entertaining myself if you’re busy or gone out. Kaelie was abandoned with her siblings in rural Tennessee and she’s still getting used to the big wide world! Although a wallflower with a sensitive heart, once you earn her trust she is a loyal fun cuddly companion.

Hello to our community and thank you all for your wonderful support.

Phoebe’s spay and mass removal surgery done on the 19th of September hasn’t been all roses 🌹🌹

She went back to her sweet and wonderful foster mama, Rushi straight from our vet in Barrie on her surgery day. She had drain tubes that needed to be removed in 3-4 days and since Phoebe is fostered downtown Toronto we arranged to have that done close by with one of our vets on the following Tuesday Sept 24.

Phoebe was recovering as expected until the tubes were removed, there seemed to have been an infection, culture was sent but we will not have the results until next week - preliminary lab report shows possible gram negative rods - 4 which could be bacteria.

Once the tubes removed she returned to her foster mama and everything pretty much went downhill from there - didn’t want to eat or drink ( was being hand fed at this point) on Thursday some loose skin came out of the drain hole and Friday morning part of the sutures came apart - so off we went back to her original vet in Barrie.

She underwent a second surgery to repair the damages yesterday and it was a very long day for her, her foster mama and the whole CHR team with worries and all hands on deck situation 🙏

We have an outstanding team and an outstanding foster mama and a dog who was bred we don’t know how many times (many many) released to the streets. on a euthanasia list and finally with our rescue who has stamina - great personality and loves everyone

Let’s wish her the best recovery 💜

I’m a very sweet boy with a gentle soul - I love to soak up all the attention and pats I can get, and will be your little shadow, looking up at you with my beautiful brown eyes! Basking in the sun and snoozing are two of my fave activities, along with happily prancing around with my raccoon stuffy in my mouth.

It’s a big new world so I can be shy at first around new people, but with some time and treats I warm up to them, since it’s just a new person to love and get affection from!

I was found tied up and abandoned, and it may be because of my past, but being in a crate is pretty scary for me right now. I’m working on settling down in the crate but do get stressed and whine when I’m left alone in it. Right now I do alright outside my crate when left alone.

🆘URGENT!!! FOSTER NEEDED - PHOEBE - HAMILTON - SHE HAS ONLY UNTIL FRIDAY!!!🆘

Phoebe quickly found her way to my heart and I knew she was something special. As you can see by her loose skin she’s had a few too many babies sadly and will likely need some surgical intervention...this will be done in our care. Please comment only if you can help this beautiful deserving girl.

Phoebe arrived at the shelter as a stray and was not claimed. She is estimated to be a 6-7 year-old Boxer X Bully.

She arrived intact, recently nursing with very low-hanging mammary glands, who clearly has been bred over and over. She has a broken tooth and a few other missing teeth but otherwise appears to be in good health.

Overall, Phoebe is a confident dog who is a mix of being outgoing and calm. She was initially nervous and growly her first day at the shelter but warmed up quickly.

She does pull on the leash and likes to jump up to check out what’s on tables, so a home focused on establishing firm boundaries with a focus on obedience training is a must. Phoebe is a social dog but gets distracted easily and likes to explore what’s around her.

🌺We need your help - our community 🌺

As you all know we took in a sweet little mama from a puppy mill who was sponsored for her medical vaccines and spay (scheduled for mid September). While at our vet we were advised she is in dire need of a dental, which of course is quite noticeable so we expected this. She also has this large mammary gland to which our vet confirms that it is not an issue and just monitor. Great news! Aside from these concerns she had a clean bill of health.

Her dental is estimated at $1500 we do not ask our community very often to help us with financials but in this case we would greatly appreciate any donation towards her dental surgery. We are looking at having the surgery end September early October

Let me introduce you to a dog who found her forever home and HOW she was days away from being euthanized, solely due to overcrowded shelters.

This sweet beautiful girl was surrendered at a shelter, in Ontario. Why? Not because of any fault of this dog, but because people continue to over breed and over populate dogs and sell them to any person who wants to spend money. No questions asked.

Fast forward, the shelter was full and unable to make space for dogs, it was at a point where the decisions were being made, of euthanizing animals due to over crowding and under resources.

This beautiful dog was days *hours* away from being euthanized and Canine Haven Rescue stepped in and found her a temporary home to avoid her losing her chance to live.

Fast forward ----> These are some of the comments her foster family have said since getting her: That she is hilarious, so sweet and gentle, loving, gets along with dogs, is amazing on leash, and is so silly and goofy. Most of all, she is super affectionate.

I am happy to say, that as of tonight, this Babe has found her forever home.

Congratulations to this amazing champ of a girl, may she never ever have to be faced with being locked in a cage, or days from losing her life because of some humans impulsive decision!
