Rest peacefully, dear Guido 2/14/08 - 4/23/20 🌈🐾 .
I write this with the heaviest heart as I had to say goodbye to the sweetest boy. 😢 Guido’s mission was that of pure goodness as he shared his story and love for everyone. The little guy from the shelter, given a quirky Italian name, brought the most joy to so many. He was perfect — kind, gentle, loving, bold, curious, chatty, and with a personality much greater than his size. This remarkable pup has taught me so much, being the inspiration for DressGuido and all that it represents. ❤️ Unfortunately, once his health issues began, they continued to pile on. It started 2 1/2 years ago with diabetes, Cushings and chronic pancreatitis. Cataracts caused by diabetes led to blindness, but blindness didn’t bother him. That was the very least of his problems as he then became an Ambassadog for Second Chances for Blind Dogs 😇🐶 Strutting his Muffin’s Halo, Guido proved to others that blind dogs really do see with their hearts. ❤️😇🐶 .
Diabetes, Cushings, and pancreatitis was managed well with a special diet, insulin and medication for nearly two years when a tumor was found on his liver. Surgery, about six months ago, could not remove the tumor and since then, the bag of ailments got fuller with kidney disease and gallbladder issues. We tried a variety of special foods, medications and supplements, but nothing could cure him. Although Guido fought so very hard, he stopped eating (even all of his favorite things) as his failing kidneys got the best of him and his little body couldn’t go on. He crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully with so much love. 😞 Run, little boy, free from pain. Lay on the grass in the warm sun and relish the food you loved. Bring joy to those you meet until we are together again. Guido, my little angel, by will forever be in my heart (a heart that is so broken without you). ~ Linda 💔🙏🏻🌈🐾
