A New Future Transport Welcome to the transport page for A New Future Transports. Weekly transports will be posted here as Transport is an interactive process and communication is key.

You must call or text after every hand-off as updates are emailed to all persons involved with the run. You are asked to follow your email for updates and to print out the runsheet so you have all information with you. Senders:

1. Make sure your dogs all have a tight fitting collar or a harness if your dog is considered a flight risk. The collar cannot be worn or chewed. A leash must also be prov

ided.
2. Please make sure to write the name of the dog and receiving rescue’s name on the dog’s collar or place an ID tag on the collar with this information.
3. I will not accept any sick dogs. I will remove any dogs that I feel are not well enough to travel from the transport.
4. Make sure all paperwork (vet records and health certificate) are in an envelope with the dog’s name written clearly on the envelope, sending shelter information, and receiving rescue information. A PHOTO of the dog MUST be on the outside of the envelope as well. Seal and place in a bag with the dog’s food for the transport.
5. Failure to comply with these simple things means your dog(s) will not be allowed on transport.
6. All dogs MUST have vaccination records, health certificate, leash, collar, and enough food for a few days! It is not the overnighters responsibility to provide food. Drivers:
1. Please arrive at your meeting place at least 15 minutes ahead of schedule to help walk and water the dogs, and then help load them for the next leg.
2. Please do not give treats, the dogs are under stress and this can cause loose stool, vomiting and could cause fights in the car.
3. If your dogs are crated in the car, you may give them a hard bone to chew on.
4. After the next leg leaves, please make sure to call or text me at 217-304-7066 letting me know that the dogs are on the next leg.
5. Please use caution when moving dogs from one car to the other. Keeping dogs apart from each other, as these dogs have never been together prior to this transport, and as they are stressed out, they could bolt, or become aggressive.
6. Please make sure to bring water and water bowls for the dogs for each break between the legs.
7. Please keep your cell phones charge and on at all times on the day of your transport. This is vital as you will get calls from the other drivers if they are ahead or behind schedule.
8. Please also monitor your emails, as I will send out updates after each leg; this is important so that other drivers know if there are dogs not getting along, or are not feeling well. When you call me, please make sure to let me know if there are any issues at that time.
9. There are no adoptions off my transports. If you would like to be considered for adoption of any of the dogs, please submit an application for adoption with the receiving rescue.
10. You must not bring your personal dogs on any transports. This is important in case of illness or behavior issues.
11. Make sure to call the drivers ahead and behind your leg the night before transport to verify all meeting places. You may change meeting places, but it cannot add to any time in the car for the dogs.
12. Please make sure all of your information is correct. Please pay particular attention to your phone numbers. If I have transposed any numbers, please make sure to let the driver ahead, behind you, and me know.
13. All driver information and meeting places are confidential and are to remain as such.
14. Make sure to take your camera as we all love to see pictures of the dogs throughout their journey to their new lives.
15. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO HAND-OFF ALL PAPERWORK AND BELONGINGS AT EVERY STOP. Some dogs may be traveling with medication and is it imperative that the meds arrive with the dog.

Naomi is now with her foster to adopt mom and dad and they are headed home to Chicago Thank you all again for helping us get our precious little peanut on her way to her new life.

We are dedicating today's transport to Sara Rhodes. Sara was an absolutely incredible person who helped shelters and rescues from southern to northern Illinois in every possible way imaginable, especially in Vermilion County. Sara and her foster dog were involved in an auto accident a few weeks ago and tragically, neither survived. So today, we did this for Naomi in memory of Sara and Tootsie ❤️

God bless all of the wonderful people who are out here every day, day in and day out, doing everything they can to help animals. Sara was one of those people and her presence is terribly missed.

Rufus is now with foster mom Jenna and they are on their way home. Saying thank you does not seem like nearly enough for everything our drivers did to get both of these dogs out of the clinic and to their foster homes today. We appreciate you all so very much for all of your flexibility and communication and willingness to go the extra mile to make sure this run was filled and that our dogs were happy, safe and loved all day long ❤️

We don't have any thing on the transport schedule right now but hope that we will be having more dogs on the move very soon and we hope that you all can join us again then!

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and a great week everyone!!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone! We are back on Saturday the 27th with London and Rufus going to their Wisconsin foster homes. Please look over the runsheet and let me know if you can drive. If you want to drive and can only fit one passenger we can add a second driver to the leg 😊

***Our passengers are both good with other dogs but they are not familiar with each other and transport can be confusing and stressful so that we ask that you crate either one or both dogs/they are not traveling with their own crates***

Thank you!
