Here we go....every week a kill list is put out for dogs and cats. Extensions at this point have not been promised when there is a hard date.
We aren't blaming the city, they honestly are overwhelmed. But let's be honest, even with heartworms it isn't euthanizing, it's putting animals down due to space.
Corpus Christi, you truly have a long way to go to dig out of this mess created by past city administrations.
Elections are this year. Go ahead and judge how they vote on items and be sure to question candidates on their stance on a breeding ordinance. If they are more concerned with their animal having balls maybe they have a problem.
Remember your pets during this cold front. The city has new ordinances defining shelter.
Also, a reminder Corpus Christi Animal Care Services is in dire need of stadium blankets, the fleece is perfect because they are washable and re-usable, and dry quickly.

The Corpus Christi pound is killing dogs for space. They are trying to pull out all stops to get him safe but in a city where dumping is so common and cruelty is all over....what do you do, can't leave them to die slowly.

Ain't no sunshine for Sunshine pretty soon.
Walks well on leash. Loves to go on walks. Sweet, friendly and soon to be dead. And yeah, she has heartworms, but that's treatable.

She has been given a lot of extensions, but this may be her last.

FRED will soon be DEAD.
WHY? Because he was abandoned and he's heartworm positive.
Oh, Yeah he is also at the kill shelter here in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Fred has been there for 42 days. So doubtful he will make it to 45. Going down on the 10th of September. Staff has been trying to get him safe but with so many strays a hearworm positive dog stands almost no chance.

This dog died, it took her a couple hours and countless phone calls. Someone tried to help. The city was busy or just couldn't find her?
