Everyone at Blue Diamond Horseshoe welcomes Makenzie Haggerty (MB Cow Horses) to our full service facility to continue her career in the horse industry. THANK YOU FOR STARTING SPOT FOR DEBBIE! She starts young horses and gives them the tools they need to go in any direction and any discipline. She has literally been working with horses since she was a little girl. She is available to take horses in for full training, partial training, tune ups, loping, restart OTTB to go on to another "job" after racing, and/or travel to you to ride. Her bio is below
"Most kids have dreams to become a Veterinarian, a Doctor, a Fireman, a princess, a ballet dancer; the list goes on. A lot of times those dreams change as they get older, and they pursue an entirely different path. As soon as Makenzie was old enough to answer the age-old question "What do you want to be when you grow up?", her answer has always been "I want to work with horses". Her answer has been the same since she was tiny. She started riding on her own, getting on ba****ck with a halter and lead rope, when she was 2 years old. Obviously, she would need help with a saddle, but if she was ready to go ride and you weren't ready to go put a saddle on; she rode ba****ck. When she was just 8 years old, she asked if she could start "helping" Brent train/start young horses. She also wanted to learn Dressage, Cutting, Reining, Sorting and everything in-between. She started riding Brent's Quarter Horse "Chance”. Not long after, she struck a deal with him so that she could own Chance. She has had him ever since. She learned Dressage on him, and went on to lease a Warmblood when she was 9 to compete a few times. She went up to Villa Rosa with Pam Nelson and took a few lessons up there. At 9 - she was riding Grand Prix horses. She competed First Level on her leased horse, Nike, when she was 9. She went up against solid riders who were a lot older and more experienced than she was. She walked out of the show office with a great test and a big blue ribbon. From there she moved on to Sorting. She even tried Barrel Racing for a bit. When she was 12 years old, she started her own young horse. While she had supervision for obvious reasons, she did the work herself. She was the first one on him, she was the first to do everything with him. As she got older, she ventured out into Cutting. She also spent a summer working at a Show Jumping/Sales barn at Galway Downs. They were very kind to her, and she took Chance and did a few shows there with him jumping. While she was there, she once again worked with Brent riding Thoroughbreds who were training to go to the track. She learned to exercise ride. She even spent time learning the Thoroughbred Breeding and foaling side of things. This gave her a lot of experience with not only handling mares and stallions, but also gave her hands on with the babies. From there she learned how to rope too. Soon after she found her niche in Reined Cow Horses. She worked under some top-notch trainers and competed locally, and went to Las Vegas, Oklahoma and Texas. To say that she has been working with horses her entire life is a fact. To say she took the time to learn various disciplines is a fact as well. In 2024 she relocated to Aguanga, just East of Temecula, CA. Makenzie has been successfully running her own business for several years up North in San Luis Obispo County. She arrives down here to begin a new chapter training out of Blue Diamond Horseshoe facility in Aguanga, CA. She starts young horses and puts a solid foundation on them so they can go on and become whatever they are meant to be. She "restarts/retrains" OTTB's, tune-ups, loping, keeping your horse "legged" up, takes horses in her care on trail rides, teaches them to track on the mechanical cow, shows your horse in Reined Cow Horse, and specializes in training Reined Cow Horses. If you are looking to have someone put a few rides on your horse so they are more reasonable for you when you ride on the weekend, or if you are in need of full training, partial training, exercising; whatever the case may be, Makenzie is highly skilled. She has a God given talent to work with horses and you will not be disappointed. To contact Makenzie directly call or text: 805-712-7344"
