In 2018 Jeri who has shown quarter horses for 45 years, started looking for a way to help her 14 year old gelding feel better. He suffers from severe arthritis in his hocks and chronic front tendon issues. Hearing how CBD is helping dogs and people, Jeri started searching for a CBD product for her horse, Burt. Unfortunately, she couldn’t find a product. So after a random conversation with Heidi, PhD., the two of them started playing around in the kitchen to come up with a product that they knew the horses would eat. Burt was a great test subject since he is pretty savvy to medicine and would spit it out, eat around it or simply refuse to eat it at all. Jeri realized that the product had to be easy for the owner to administer with little or no waste since CBD is rather expensive.
Heidi who has her PhD in Natural Medicine suggested along with the CBD that a blend of healing anti-inflammatory herbs would also be beneficial. Heidi developed the recipe for a CBD supplement that comes in the form of a cookie and has no artificial ingredients. Even our CBD is extracted using CO2 instead of ethanol. The girls decided it was worth paying more for full spectrum CBD and keep our product all natural.
Jeri asked a few of her friends if they would test the product on their horses and the results came back better than expected. The comments ranged from inflammation decreased significantly, older horses playing like young horses in the pasture, horses that were ready to retire from the show ring all of the sudden were showing again, and the younger horses in training were getting more focused or trainable.
Heidi and Jeri realized that they created a great product and that is how H & J Equine Supplements, LLC was formed. H & J Equine Supplements hopes your horse has the same amazing results that Burt and many others around the nation had.
