Friends of Eden Animal Rescue We are independent and network the animals to save lives. Hopefully our work will help reduce the number of animals that are euthanized each year. PER DOG

2.

Friends of Eden Animal Rescue is a volunteer-driven nonprofit saving and supporting local cats and dogs through rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, spay/neuter efforts, and community programs that keep pets safe, healthy, and in loving homes. WHO WE ARE:

We are a 501c3 non-profit dedicated to saving shelter animals in the City of Eden and Rockingham County through networking with other rescues an

d potential adopters. NO NEGATIVITY OR PROFANITY:

This page is dedicated to saving animals and bringing awareness through networking. All negative posts or profanity will be deleted, no exceptions. We are here to save animals and will not tolerate any negativity. MISSION:

We provide support for the abandoned, lost or stray animals inside the City of Eden or animals that find themselves at the Rockingham County Animal Shelter. We will rescue from the shelter and using social media we network the animals for exposure to an owner seeking their lost pet, potential rescue organizations and adopters and to help raise money for the animal’s care. DESCRIPTION:

We are a group of volunteers who all work full-time jobs. We network on a daily basis to promote and help to save the animals that come into the Rockingham County Animal Shelter located at 250 Cherokee Camp Road in Reidsville. Animals picked up by the City of Eden's Animal Control officer within the city limits are now brought to this facility. The hold time is minimal, so the more sharing of their pictures and information, the better the chance of an owner reclaim or adoption or rescue. We are not employees of the county's shelter. INFORMATION ON HOW TO SUPPORT US:
DONATIONS:

Donations can be made with a credit card through Paypal at [email protected]

Your kind donation is appreciated.

1. Your tax deductible contribution will help save a life by covering pull fees, vet costs, support of temporary fosters and to support transport to rescue.

2. Contributions are not refundable.

3. If you would like to sponsor the pull fee for a specific animal, please let us know.
$100 = Full Sponsorship - covers vetting costs for one animal (all vaccines, heartworm check, de-worming, tick and flea treatment).

If you would like to donate towards our new location you can go to Paypal and enter [email protected]

HOW TO RECLAIM YOUR PET FROM THE COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER:

City of Eden Animal Control Hours M - F 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. An Eden Animal Control Officer does work Part-time on weekends. Office is closed on weekends and holidays.

1. For an owner to reclaim their animal, usually a dog or cat that has been picked up for running at large the fee is as follows:

$65.00 for impoundment
to be paid to the City of Eden. There will also be fees paid to the Rockingham County Animal Shelter and they include: $25.00 Redemption Fee to reclaim your animal, $12.00/day boarding fee, $10.00 rabies vaccination. PER DOG. For bite quarantines the fee is $16.00 a day (for 10 days).

3. Also, the owner may be charged criminally for allowing their pets to run at large. If convicted in court, this would mean paying additional money for court costs and penalty fees. The Rockingham County Animal Shelter is located at 250 Cherokee Camp Road in Reidsville. When a dog or cat in the City of Eden goes missing, contact the Rockingham County Animal Shelter as soon as possible to reclaim your dog or cat. The phone number to the County Shelter is: 336-394-0074. If your dog or cat is not at the county's shelter, then contact the Rockingham County Humane Society or the Friends of Eden - dogs and cats can travel some distance or a well meaning citizen who finds them could take them to the one of these organizations to keep them safe. If you call the county's shelter, do not ASSUME that your missing dog or cat is NOT located in the shelter, even if you are told they are not there. There have been many times when people have made phone calls inquiring about their missing dog/cat and have been told that their pet is not located in the shelter. So, our advice to you is to make the trip over to the shelter to see if your dog or cat is located there for yourself. Also - keep in mind that it is important to have a collar with contact information on your dog at all times AND a rabies tag. You would be surprised how many dogs are picked up not wearing collars, ID tags or rabies tags. That makes it a lot easier for Animal Control to find YOU so your dog or cat can be returned.

§ 3 1 RUNNING AT LARGE PROHIBITED. It shall be unlawful for any person to permit any animal or fowl under his control to run at large in the city except as permitted elsewhere in this chapter. ('89 Code, § 3-1) Penalty, see § 3-91 et seq.

§ 3 7 COMPLIANCE WITH RABIES LAW. (A) The failure of an owner to comply with any law of the state relating to the control of rabies shall constitute a violation of this section. Specifically, but not to be construed as a limitation hereof, it shall be unlawful for an owner to fail to have each dog or cat owned by him vaccinated against rabies as required by such state law and to procure the metal tag issued upon such vaccination. Such tag shall be referred to in this chapter as the metal rabies tag. (B) It shall be unlawful for any owner to fail to provide each dog or cat owned by him which is required by state law to be vaccinated against rabies with a collar or harness to which a currently valid metal rabies tag is securely attached. (C) It shall be unlawful for any person to place or cause or allow to be placed on any dog or cat a metal rabies tag other than such tag duly issued with respect to such dog or cat. ('89 Code, § 3-7) (Am. Ord. passed 9-21-10) Penalty, see § 3-91 et seq. Statutory reference:
Rabies control law, see G.S. § 130A 184 et seq. TO ADOPT AN ANIMAL FROM THE COUNTY SHELTER:

🐾 The Benefits of Having a Shop Cat

…and Why Adopting From a Rescue Makes It Even Better

There’s something magical about walking into a business and being greeted by a friendly whiskered face. A shop cat doesn’t just add charm — they bring personality, comfort, and a memorable customer experience that keeps people coming back.

Here’s why adding a shop cat is a win-win for you and for a homeless kitty in need:

🐱 1. Instant Customer Delight

A shop cat creates a welcoming atmosphere the moment someone walks through the door.
• People smile.
• Kids light up.
• Shoppers linger longer.
Your business becomes a place people talk about — not just for what you sell, but for the joy they feel when visiting.

🌟 2. Adds Warmth, Personality & Life to Your Space

A shop can be beautiful, well-designed, and perfectly stocked — but a cat brings soul.
They add a sense of coziness, comfort, and character. Customers love the surprise of meeting a furry “employee,” and it makes your space feel alive and original.

🧡 3. Creates Social Media Buzz

Shop cats have a way of becoming celebrities.
People snap photos, tag your business, and share their visits online.
Before you know it, your shop cat has their own fan base — and your shop has more visibility.

🐾 4. Boosts Employee Morale

Cats reduce stress, offer companionship, and add a little humor to the workday. A calm, friendly cat can lift the spirits of everyone in the building.

🤝 5. Supports Animal Rescue in a Meaningful Way

When you adopt a cat from a rescue, you’re doing twice the good:
• You’re giving a homeless kitty a safe, warm place to live.
• You’re freeing up space and resources so the rescue can help another animal in need.

💙 6. You’re Literally Saving a Life

Every rescue cat deserves a chance — especially the overlooked older cats, the shy ones, or the quirky personalities who thrive in calm shop environments.
Your shop becomes their safe haven, and they become part of your story.

🎉 A Shop Cat = Happy Customers + A Happy Business + A Saved Life

If you’re looking for a way to elevate your brand, bring joy to your customers, and make a real difference… adopting a rescue cat might be the purr-fect solution.

Let’s save a life — and brighten a shop — together. 🐾💛

🐾💚 Friends of Eden Animal Rescue – Pet Food Distribution 💚🐾

Lending a Paw . . . that’s what we do! 🐾💚

Helping families keep their pets during difficult times is one of our top priorities. By offering pet food support, we help keep pets in their homes, with the people who love them most.

🐾 Would you like to help?
We are gratefully accepting donations to support our Pet Pantry, including:
• Cat & dog food (dry and canned)
• Kitten and puppy chow
• Cat litter
• New or clean, gently used blankets
• Wire kennels or crates
• Cat toys pop

Every donation helps a family in need and keeps a pet safe, fed, and loved. 💚🐾

We’ll see you Saturday at 9 AM!

Another day… another week… another month — and we still have absolutely gorgeous kittens (rapidly turning into full-blown, fabulous cats!) waiting for their happily-ever-after. 💔🐾

It truly is heartbreaking to see how overwhelming the cat overpopulation crisis has become — not just here, but in every community. Spay and neuter is the only long-term solution, but in the meantime, these sweet souls still need safe, loving homes.

As we head into the holidays, we know things can get chaotic — which is why we encourage thoughtful, lifetime adoptions, not impulse decisions. 🎄✨

But if you’re ready, prepared, and looking to add a furry family member to your pack… please consider Friends of Eden Animal Rescue.
Our adoptable cats and kittens are:
✔️ Spayed/neutered
✔️ Up-to-date on vaccines
✔️ Social, sweet, and full of personality
✔️ Ready to love and be loved 🏡💚

Adoption isn’t just an act of kindness — it’s a gift of forever.
And forever looks beautiful on them.

💚🐾 Adopt. Don’t shop. Change a life today.

Volunteers truly make the world go ’round, and we are beyond grateful! 🌎❤️

These two pups came from a hoarding situation.

They are NOT mean, they’re just….awkward.
Like “first-day-of-middle-school” awkward.
Like “doesn’t know what a leash is and thinks the vacuum is a demon” awkward.
Like “I will take this treat but I will not make eye contact while doing it” awkward.

What they need is a foster who can teach them the important things in life, such as:
✨ People give snacks
✨ The couch is not lava
✨ Walks are not conspiracies
✨ Belly rubs are actually amazing

We provide the medical care and supplies.
You provide the patience… and maybe a few snacks for emotional support (for you AND them).
