Katie here. I was a nervous Nelly all day yesterday. My buddy, Charlie, had surgery yesterday for what they thought was a potential cancerous growth. It turned out to be a very large sebaceous cyst. Thank God! It's a big incision (about 10"), but he seems to be doing fine. Not liking the cone.

He back home and I've checked him over. It will take a long time to grow the hair back, but he seems to be doing fine. Still a few effects of the drugs.

Charlie had a really rough day yesterday. He had to go to the vet for his "senior" screen. What? He still behaves like a puppy. Anyway, I think he remembers his last visit when they wacked him. He was a nervous wreck and kept trying to climb into Rick's lap. The poor doctor had trouble getting him to stand so he could be examined.

So, now Charlie has anti-anxiety pills for traumatic situations such as vet visits. That may include groomer visits too, since he doesn't much like water.

Katie here and I'm doing just fine. I love this cooler weather.

Katie here. It was a nail biter this afternoon. We’ve been waiting for the Monsoon to start and it came all at once. The wind was gusting and I thought a tree was going to fall on the house. The rain was blowing sideways and we had a lake in the backyard. Charlie and I were hiding in the bathroom. Let’s hope the monsoon is here to stay for a while to cool things off. It’s been so hot that I can’t walk after 7am.

Charlie finally got a long-overdue bath and I mean finally! We can tell it's Spring. Our tree is blooming and we are bringing in all sorts of little yellow buds into the house. Rick is having trouble keeping up. Even the housekeeper is having fits. It should be over soon. It's starting to get a little warm, so we've moved our walks top about 6 am. The breeze is cool and pavement is not hot. We noticed a lot of our friends are going earlier also.
