Handsome Mr. Ray Ray. He's 4-years-old. He's a mushy guy. You can pick him up and carry him around. People are always looking for a cat that is ok with being carried around...well here he is! He loves attention and is looking for a best friend to cuddle up with. He wants to be your one and only cat. He's great with people and gentle with children. He's neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has tested negative for FIV and FELV. He came to the rescue when his owner died. If you think you can provide a loving forever home for him, please email [email protected]

FIP lecture...

EveryCat Health Foundation is excited to present "Feline Infectious Peritonitis: From the FCoV to FCoV23, The Cyprus Case or A New Perspective in the Way We See Coronaviruses," on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024, at 11:00 am EST.

The presenters are:
Demetris Epaminondas, DVM, MVSc (SAS);
Maria Lyraki, DVM, MSc, DipECVIM-CA, MRCVS;
Christine Tait-Burkard, MSc, Ph.D; and
Danielle Gunn-Moore (MACVSc (Feline), RCVS Specialist (Feline Medicine), FHEA, FRSB, FRCVS).

This 1.5-hour webinar, sponsored collaboratively with Zen By Cat *, will follow the FCoV-23 outbreak in Cyprus from early 2023. The presenters, who are each actively involved in the investigation, will describe the epidemiological appearance of this outbreak, the differences in the clinical appearance of the “FCoV-23” (proposed naming), the findings from the PCR testing, and the whole genome analysis of PCR confirmed cases and what they indicate about disease spread and pathology.

RACE approval is pending.

*We dedicate special thanks to Zen By Cat for its on-going support to help EveryCat move FIP research ever-forward.

Today only - matching donations for FIP research! Please consider...

We are so close to meeting our $20,000 match from Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Inc. With a little help from our friends... There’s still time to make a Giving Tuesday donation to the Bria Fund of FIP Research.

The road to finding treatments that worked was fraught with tears, hardships, loss, and a united effort to change the outcomes for our beloved cats diagnosed with FIP.
EveryCat Health Foundation wants to continue to build on the work of the more than 60 FIP research projects we have funded to drive change further. There is still so much left to learn.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to help make FIP a disease of the past.

Please vote for Smokey daily - so the grand prize can be given to FIP research! We will find an affordable cure! In memory of Mina and all those lost too soon...

Smokey is a survivor of FIP, thanks in large part to the generous people who donated money to fund the research.

But it's not over yet.

Today, Smokey tirelessly works to pay it forward to ensure that other cats have the same chance to survive. And that means continuing to raise funds for on-going FIP research.

So, he's asking for your help to win the $10,000 prize which he'll donate to FIP research. All you have to do is vote. For free. Every day.

Happy Sunday!

One week ago today, Dr. Niels Pedersen delivered his keynote presentation, "Status of Antiviral Drug Therapy for Feline Infectious Peritonitis: 2016 to Present" at our feline health symposium, "Health Breakthroughs for Every Cat: FIP and Beyond" at the University of Florida-Gainesville to an audience of both in-person attendees and virtual attendees from 20 countries around the world.
Although retired now, he was kind enough to accept our request to speak at the symposium, and even took the time to answer questions on the virtual platform.

Dr. Pedersen published his first research paper on FIP in 1964, and in 2019 he was able to announce that FIP could now be re-classified from fatal to curable. A lot of cats are alive today because of Dr. Pedersen.

To learn more about Dr. Pedersen and his journey with FIP, visit http://ow.ly/7z9F50JXcYS

Many thanks to Zen By Cat for sharing this touching photo of Dr. Pedersen and "Smokey", who was one of the very first cats cured of FIP in the drug trial.

Visit the Zen By Cat website for information about current treatment options. (And see great cat videos that will make you smile)
