I usually struggled with Wild for these shots because he didn’t want to hold his head still. With Hallu, there is also a struggle, but it’s because he wants to turn his head more into my hand so I can pet between his eyes while he presses in as hard as can to my palm 🥹

This snapshot is one of my absolute favorites. It was taken by in a moment when I was loudly complaining about how much I hated false summits on trails & how I just needed “a second” (I needed many) before continuing on this trail. This spot, this trail that is tied to so many images & memories of & with Wild, is in one of the areas at risk of being sold off for development if the bill gets passed. THIS spot. With its wildflowers & its Gatorade lakes & its snowy mountain tops & its fresh air & its towering trees. For sale. Please make your voice heard. Please reach out to your senators & let them know that this isn’t their land to sell. We only have until early July to be loud about it.

Hi. It’s me, again, yelling to you through the void about our Public Lands being FOR SALE. I’m yelling TO you, not AT you, because if you follow this page then I think you understand & agree that these lands are more important than any “affordable” housing they’re claiming that they’ll use them to build. Most of the land they’re offering up for that supposed purpose are mountain tops. Deserts. Not really places for a 4br2bth with attached garage. Places that are supporting ecosystems as well as tourism. Protecting the land is also protecting the local economy. Be loud. Be annoying. Call your reps. Email your reps. I am. There are a lot of atrocities happening all at the same time & I know it’s hard to feel like you can do anything about any of them. But we can try. We have to try.

A (pumpkin) king I could stand behind 👑 Wild wasn’t necessarily the “ruler” of the house - but he was royalty in all the right ways: he commanded respect from those that saw him from a distance (even if he was actually afraid of some of them), he was exceedingly fair even when others weren’t fair to him, & he always always always looked out for those around him.

Scrolling Facebook memories & thought this was Hallu at first - not because it looked at all like him 😅 But because I so rarely used this softer style when editing photos of Wild 💙 He was a sharp dog: sharp minded, sharp witted, & sharply angled (also his teeth were sharp 🙂‍↕️). Maybe I’ll go back & edit a few to show his soft side.

I posted one of the photos from this moment in stories but I just love them & how much they love each other 💛 The way the light streams through the trees of my backyard in this spot is one of my favorite things about it. Golden light dancing on my golden boys.

Whim’s marks our last pack-birthday-celebration until early fall 🎉 The little noodle is SEVEN today 😳 Whim was the first puppy I felt brave enough to add to our pack after I got Wild. He was so much work, I didn’t have time to have Puppy Fever for a very long time 😅 And when I did, I knew I’d have to pick a puppy that would mesh well with both our crazy lifestyle & the opinionated boy that used so much of my brain power on a daily basis. Whim did just that. She’s playful & quiet & awkwardly cuddling every chance she gets 💗 She spends most of her days just staring at trees in the hopes that a squirrel will get “lost” & find its way to her mouth - but she’s always ready for a game of chase or a chance to try a new snack (despite her skeleton figure). Happy Birthday, Whimmy!

Today I opted for awkward-puppy-phase photos for these three boys because I do what I want *and* today is the day we celebrate three special days 🎉

DUDE turns *9* today 😳 I can’t believe it. He’s acted exactly the same since the day I brought him home 🧡 He’s gentle & sweet but oh so intense about games of chase & you better watch out if he thinks you look the least bit snake-like 🐍 He’s helped shape so many of my client dogs & has taught all of his younger packmates the importance of asking before vaulting onto another’s back 😅

WILD’s Gotcha Day was a couple of days ago & that day will always be the day my entire world changed. I’ve brought home many dogs & each one has impacted me in significant ways, but Wild’s introduction truly flipped everything inside out. It’s not that I didn’t know what I was doing - it’s just that I didn’t know what we would end up doing together 💙

HALLU’s Gotcha Day is today! He shares his celebrations joyfully with his brothers - he shares most things joyfully 🥹 Hallu is just the sweetest soul & I am always always always so grateful that in Wild’s absence, all the cuddles that were taken from us have been made up for by how many Hallu demands 💛

I’m sure I’ve reposted this one before, but I was scrolling through looking for something else & couldn’t resist 💙 I have very few photos of Wild walking to camera. In the earlier days it was due to needing to secure him to whatever he was posing on 😅 & then it just wasn’t something we practiced.
