This is a Hail Mary post to see if we can give Nani a second chance. She was found outside wandering around an apartment complex. Residents feed her but no one has claimed her after many months of searching. She is docile and sweet 95% of the time. The 5% exception is if you stroke her too long especially around her tail she'll give you a little nip to let you know she's done. But otherwise you can pick her up, and she is a sweet cat.

Many people want to adopt kittens, but there are benefits to adopting a cat that's already calm and settled.

Nani is currently staying with a foster family but cannot stay there long term as they have three dogs, two cats and kids that make it hard to keep the door closed (Nani has already snuck out twice and thankfully retrieved).

If you have space in your home and heart to rescue an adult (mostly) sweet and cute cat, please consider adopting Nani.

She is chipped, fixed, vaccinated and tested negative for feline AIDS and Leukemia.

We are still looking for a home for this adorable all black kitten duo. They were literally saved from the brink of death (their two siblings were found frozen). They are super affectionate, cute, used to kids and dogs. Great family pets! Please help us spread the word. 🙏

Who would like to adopt two super cute and affectionate brother and sister kittens? They were found nearly frozen to death with severe eye infections, but with lots of TLC from their foster mom, they are now healthy and will soon be ready for adoption. They are truly bonded and so adorable together; we would be grateful someone has a home and heart big enough to adopt them together.

We are grateful and proud of our trapper volunteers for their dedication this weekend. Three trips, 25 hours and more to come, 5 locations to catch these 9 cats that will be TNR'd this week!

Patiently trapping is just the first step in the process of humanely ensuring these outdoor cats stop reproducing, and minimizing fighting instincts. They will be taken to and from the vet for surgery/vaccination/ear tips, recuperated 1-3 days, and released back to their colonies. It is incredibly inspiring this is accomplished by busy working mothers with families and jobs. 💪👏

Midnight is an adult female cat that was found outside with a Big Gulp lid stuck around her neck. She was very skinny and hungry. She is now all clean, gaining weight, and ready for adoption. She is SUPER sweet. If you'd like to give her a safe and loving home please contact us!

Sir Lancelot was trapped on Monday evening in rough shape. Barely over one pound (50% smaller than his sibling kittens), he had difficulty breathing and eating, because he had a huge botfly larvae growing and living in his NOSE. We had it removed at the vet, have been giving him medicine with lots of rich food and TLC; and here he is in the video looking so much better and purring away! He will be ready for adoption in about six weeks. We also trapped Lancelot's mother, uncle, and two siblings that same day, with the hope of ending the cycle of suffering for that cat family.

A call to action for animal lovers

This is a call to action for animal lovers in our community who are compelled to help, and save our community cats and kittens. Too many outside cats and kittens suffer from hunger and disease, and thousands of animals are euthanized every year in central Florida’s overcrowded shelters. By working together we can spay and neuter outdoor cats and kittens, and find homes for adoptable cats and kittens.

Dexter’s Kitties, Inc was formed by a small group of passionate animal lovers in the Lake Nona area who realized we are Stronger Together. The organization is registered with the state of FL and a 501(c)3 status with the IRS is pending.

We are seeking community support in FIVE ways:

Team Leaders - who can dedicate on average 1-5 hours a week to help manage critical ongoing responsibilities.
