"Arm your pet" free cat wellness day - Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at OCAS, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Animal services will be offering free microchipping and vaccines (rabies vaccine, fvrcp combination vaccine) to the cats of orange county residents.
Services are available on a first come, first served basis through the dog carport, while supplies last.
There is a limit of two cats per household for these services.
All cats must be in individual carriers.
Pets unable to be safely handled may be refused service.
Due to health and safety concerns, ocas will not be able to assist cats that have had previous vaccine reactions or are experiencing current medical conditions.

🐾 Happy International Cat Day! 🐾

Today, August 8th, we celebrate our beloved feline friends all over the world — and we want to make this day truly special. Our goal? To find loving homes for all our cats, but today, in special, we would like to talk about Hazel❤️.

Hazel is just 1 year old, but she already has the heart of a hero. She lovingly raised her own 5 kittens and took in 5 orphaned kittens as her own. All her babies have now found their forever homes — and Hazel is ready for hers.

She’s gentle, affectionate, and has so much love to give. Let’s make sure Hazel’s next chapter is filled with comfort, safety, and endless cuddles.

Meet Freya – Gentle, Soft-Spoken, and Full of Heart

Freya is a gorgeous, affectionate kitten who warms up quickly and enjoys being near her people. She’s playful but chill, and has the cutest little kink in her tail. She is obsessed with chasing her favorite string toy, and check out the video of her playing fetch!

While she can be independent, Freya absolutely loves companionship. She’ll quietly settle next to you on a fuzzy blanket watching you work, and wait for her cuddle time on your lap or snuggle and purr next to you while you both take a little nap. She's social with other cats and finds comfort in calm surroundings.

Freya would do best in a home with adults or older children, as loud environments and young kids aren’t her style.

If you're looking for a quiet companion with a loving heart and playful spark, Freya is the one you've been looking for!

Clyde is the MAN. He's happy go lucky, gets along with people, cats, dogs. He's playful, cuddly, and just pure joy. He is fixed, vaccinate, microchipped, and tested negative for feline AIDS and Leukemia. 🙌

Snapshots in rescue! Countless hours of devotion are behind every image...

This is a Hail Mary post to see if we can give Nani a second chance. She was found outside wandering around an apartment complex. Residents feed her but no one has claimed her after many months of searching. She is docile and sweet 95% of the time. The 5% exception is if you stroke her too long especially around her tail she'll give you a little nip to let you know she's done. But otherwise you can pick her up, and she is a sweet cat.

Many people want to adopt kittens, but there are benefits to adopting a cat that's already calm and settled.

Nani is currently staying with a foster family but cannot stay there long term as they have three dogs, two cats and kids that make it hard to keep the door closed (Nani has already snuck out twice and thankfully retrieved).

If you have space in your home and heart to rescue an adult (mostly) sweet and cute cat, please consider adopting Nani.

She is chipped, fixed, vaccinated and tested negative for feline AIDS and Leukemia.

A call to action for animal lovers

This is a call to action for animal lovers in our community who are compelled to help, and save our community cats and kittens. Too many outside cats and kittens suffer from hunger and disease, and thousands of animals are euthanized every year in central Florida’s overcrowded shelters. By working together we can spay and neuter outdoor cats and kittens, and find homes for adoptable cats and kittens.

Dexter’s Kitties, Inc was formed by a small group of passionate animal lovers in the Lake Nona area who realized we are Stronger Together. The organization is registered with the state of FL and a 501(c)3 status with the IRS is pending.

We are seeking community support in FIVE ways:

Team Leaders - who can dedicate on average 1-5 hours a week to help manage critical ongoing responsibilities.
