Midnight is looking for her forever family. If you are looking for an affectionate and super sweet lap cat, she is for you!!! Midnight was found in a secluded area in Orlando. Around her neck was a milkshake lid. It seems this was preventing her from eating or drinking. Midnight was very skinny and dehydrated. After some TLC, she has gained some weight and is thriving. Despite her tough times, Midnight loves everyone she meets! She is about 1 year old, is fully vetted and ready for immediate adoption.

Meet cutie pie Penelope (Penny for short)! She is the ultimate cuddle companion. Shy at first, once she feels safe with you, she is capable of bonding deeply. She enjoys being cradled like a baby, curling up on your lap, and will purr non stop while you hold her. Ideally, she’d love to live in a quiet home with one or two people who can give her all the love she deserves. While she’s friendly with other cats, she’s happiest as the only pet, where she can focus on building a deep connection with her humans.

This is what dedication and devotion looks like. Worried about hurricane Milton, Tuesday evening Shelley and her family trapped and took in a stray cat and by Wednesday morning they had secured an adopting family. Same night Jana and her team put on rubber boots and spent hours working to trap kittens in a dense wooded area. She caught two babies who are now safe and inside her home. They are scared but we will do our best to make them feel safe and trusting of humans. Too bad the kittens are girls, I would have liked to name one Milton. 😹

**Hurricane Helene Help Needed**
**Wednesday update - HOPE in Brevard County will take any additional cats we can load into the van and bring with us. So most likely 100+ cats coming southbound**
Hey everyone! Tentatively I am making a trip from Orlando to Asheville sometime soon, like real soon.
Northbound we’ll be taking supplies to a longtime cat rescue friend who has dedicated her life to the cats. The entire area they’re in is washed away. They have 150+ cats in their care presently and not really anywhere to house them.
Southbound we are bringing cats with us to help alleviate their needs up there. I’m sure every cat we bring southbound they’ll fill quickly with another cat with so many homes being destroyed. But the temporary relief we can provide is greatly needed.
Here’s how you can help…I’ll collect financial donations to buy cat food and litter for them. You can also order food directly from Amazon and have it shipped to me if you prefer. Tentatively we are leaving early Monday morning so just make sure it arrives by Sunday.
We are renting a van to do the round trip travel. It'll be approximately $400 for the van and fuel. Plans are to possibly sleep in the van Monday evening and head southbound on Tuesday. We have placement for 50 cats at this time. If we get enough donations and need to switch to a U-Haul we can always do that too!

Merryweather is looking for her forever home! She is friendly, affectionate and loves to sleep next to her human every night. Merryweather is just over 4 months old and is fully vetted. Please fill out an application on our website if you would like to give Merryweather a FUREVER home ❤️
Our rescue is looking for a home for a special young mama cat. Brittany is shy and skittish with new people but with time and patience she will likely bond with you. When she feels safe, she will purr and enjoy pets from her human.
She has been living in an apartment complex and has mothered two litters in a span of four months. She has completed her mothering duties and is ready to finally relax. She is less than a year old, gentle, litter box trained, spayed and is negative for feline aids and leukemia.
If you have room in your home and life, and patience to let her decompress, please consider giving Brittany a chance.
As a last resort, she will be returned to her outdoor home where she will be fed by residents. But we would love to find her a proper indoor home. 🙏

This is a great opportunity organized by Spay & Neuter Nation (SNN) to receive financial assistance to get the cats in your life fixed. They are offering two programs.
1) For outdoor cats that are NOT "pets", they are offering surgery appointments Friday, September 27 and October 11 at Pet Alliance-Alafaya. Dates in early 2025 TBD. You will need to bring the cat in a humane cat trap. If you need to borrow a trap you can reach out to us at [email protected] or ask SNN directly when you make the appointment.
* These appointments are for independent trappers only, not for people already affiliated with a TNVR program or 501c3.
* Cats must be 3 months old and weigh 3 lbs
* Cats will receive standard TNVR services: sterilization, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, ear tips, and pain meds
* These are NOT for owned or adoptable cats
* Cats can come from anywhere within Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties
**This is not a Dexter's Kitties program. We are trying to help spread the word because it's an awesome community program!

Charlotte is a dreamy perfect kitten who was lovingly bottle fed when she was 3.5 weeks old. Beautiful coloring, eager for cuddles, purrs often, playful, confident. She loves people and other cats (we haven’t tested her around dogs but we think she’ll be fine). And to make Charlotte even more adorable, she is a polydactyl, she has extra toes on her back legs! A call to action for animal lovers
This is a call to action for animal lovers in our community who are compelled to help, and save our community cats and kittens. Too many outside cats and kittens suffer from hunger and disease, and thousands of animals are euthanized every year in central Florida’s overcrowded shelters. By working together we can spay and neuter outdoor cats and kittens, and find homes for adoptable cats and kittens.
Dexter’s Kitties, Inc was formed by a small group of passionate animal lovers in the Lake Nona area who realized we are Stronger Together. The organization is registered with the state of FL and a 501(c)3 status with the IRS is pending.
We are seeking community support in FIVE ways:
Team Leaders - who can dedicate on average 1-5 hours a week to help manage critical ongoing responsibilities.
Foster families - many outdoor cats and more often kittens can be adopted out if we have foster families to nurture them.
Volunteers - assist team leaders to work directly with cats or help behind the scenes. We’d love regular, weekly volunteers; if your schedule only allows occasional help, we are grateful for any time you can spare.
Donations - check/cash/paypal, pet store gift cards, and supplies are appreciated to cover medical and operational needs.
Professional Services needed - CPA, attorney, photographer, vet tech, graphic designer, printing services
