And that’s a wrap for Walking Paws, my last walks were on Friday but had all ready said goodbye to a few in the previous weeks as they’d gone on their holidays and my van has been sold today. I cannot thank each and every one of you for the kind messages, gifts, cards and flowers! Our home currently looks like a beautiful florist!

Thank you all for the support over the years and supporting my passion and my dream. I’ve made some incredible memories, had some very high highs and some very low lows (Covid!) but I’ve met some of the most amazing people and animals over the years. Each and every one will forever hold a very special place in my heart.

Thank you all for welcoming me into your families and treating me as one of your family members. I will miss you all.

I now have a week off with Lily & Eli before starting my new job next week and a new adventure.

Following on from my post from yesterday I need to thank my support network behind the scenes who have quite simply enabled me to start & continue my business. Only feels right that they have their own post separately as there support has been outstanding.

The biggest shout out and thanks to my pretty awesome mechanic Aidan Grimley who without I quite literally wouldn’t have been able to stay on the road and I know my vans not been easy 🤦🏼‍♀️ and has caused him many headaches (probably even tears 😬🫣) over the years. Every time it was fixed, it rarely effected work so I can’t thank Aidan enough for all of his hard work keeping it safe & tiptop and sorting it as quickly as possible each time.

Another shout out and a big thank you is for my husband Erik Grimley for his support throughout, pushing me to believe I could do it, helping out with various issues, lending me his truck when needed, caretaker/ dog carer behind the scenes 😬🫣 and financially bailing me out through the darkest of times back in Covid. Without Erik’s support I could never have achieved what I have.

Erik & Aidan there will never be enough thank you’s in the world for you both. Just know you are both appreciated and none of this would have been possible without you!

I have been holding off writing this post as it makes it more real but time is ticking past and an update is needed now my clients are aware.

It is with great sadness I have decided to close the walking side of my business. There are many factors contributing to this decision- the god awful winter has well and truly beaten me this year with how wet it’s been, it’s mentally and physically exhausted me, but also the increase in temperature over the summer months too, self employment in this financial climate is so tricky to negotiate, not having a set wage, late payments/ chasing for money has made budgeting incredibly stressful and taken its toll on us as a family & quite simply I’m exhausted of many aspects of running my own business and all the admin that goes with it, increasing van costs and juggling the hustle and bustle of being a mum to our two little people. It’s all become too much and I have decided it’s time for me to make this huge change, to put my family first but also to look after myself. To take this leap and to go for a career change that is term time only.

Back in January my husband changed his job benefiting financially for us as a family. We have never had a big support network for childcare so school holidays are becoming increasingly difficult to cover but also equally want to make sure we get family time together is just as important. After being successful in an interview beginning of March, I have been offered a role of a teaching assistant at Lily’s school a few minutes walk from home!

I need to take time to focus on being a mum but also to get financial security back and to take the pressure off of us as a family unit. It’s time for me to throw myself into the unknown, learn new skills and start a new adventure/ new career!

These past NINE years have been INCREDIBLE!

To my clients,
I thank you! I thank you for the support, trusting me and welcoming me into your families! I am going to miss each and every one of you and my heart hurts knowing in a few weeks I’ll be walking my last walks with your furbabies. Without you these last 9 years wouldn’t have been possible! So from the bottom of my heart I thank you!

👀 I will be renewing my boarding licence in April and keeping insurance. So I will be still offering boarding over school holidays and weekends!! Cat visits and pet visits will also be staying as I can do these around my new job!

Susan (mum) will be taking over where she can (everyone has been contacted regarding this) and I’d like to apologise to anyone she hasn’t been able to take on due to being out of area or no space.

My last day will be Friday 5th April. Please understand this hasn’t been an easy decision and of course I’m sad and heartbroken but I’ll do my best to keep smiling to the end with minimal tears.

I’m so so so proud of myself for what I’ve achieved and the service I have provided over the years! Getting the business through covid was the toughest thing I’ve ever had to do.

I hope that you all understand my decision and I can only apologise for letting you down.

Firstly I just wanted to remind everyone I am now off until Tuesday 2nd January 2024.

Secondly, wow what a year for Walking Paws MK, I will never be able to thank you all enough for your continued support throughout this year. This has been one of my busiest years to date. As I head into my 9th year I’m completely blown away and truly humbled by the amazing clients that I have on my books.

Thirdly, THANK YOU for all of your gifts, cards, messages I have been truly spoilt and cannot wait to open them. I would also like to say the biggest thank you to you all for spoiling Walking Paws MK youngest employees Lily & Eli with all of their gifts! I am truly touched by everything I have collected over the last couple of weeks! I hope your doggy’s enjoy their pressies from me!

Lastly, as some of you know last month I lost my beautiful best friend Dylan, as many of you know he was so much more than just a horse, to me he quite simply was my whole world. I wish you all knew how much your furbabies have kept me going on the darkest and saddest of days. Their waggy tales, mad moments or simply a wet muddy cuddle when Ive needed them the most. They have all played a massive part in my life helping me come to terms with losing Dyll’s. I will never be able to thank them all enough and for their companionship on the loneliest of days too.

All that’s left for me to say is I wish you all a very Merry Christmas & a very Happy New Year!!

I hope each and every one of you and you four legged friends have a blast.

Time to recharge and get ready for 2024! (As always bookings are open and my holidays will be finalised and released as soon as I’m back for the year ahead).
