Kaimanawa Krazy Follow the progress of the newly mustered kaimanawa horses that arrive at Tracey Thompson's place So welcome to all the new likes on my page. XX

The Kaimanawa Krazy FaceBook page was originally set up to keep the owners of the newly mustered Kaimanawa ponies up to date on their handling. I never expected so many people to be interested in what I get up to everyday with these special ponies. The horses you see are all straight from muster. And most will be looking for new homes once their handling is finished. Hope you enjoy seeing our daily happenings as much as we enjoy working with these beautiful ponies.

Apparently my page has violated Facebook rules and they are threatening to close it down in 48 hours. Have no idea what rules are violated or why anyone would want to complain. So I apologise if this page disappears. It’s beyond me🤷‍♀️
But the good news is all this last musters horses have arrived home to their owners in the South Island safely.
I can now relax and go hang out with my own horses.

Three kaimanawa started the long journey south today, crossing on the ferry this afternoon. I always feel so sad putting them on the float to leave, knowing they have a hell of a journey ahead of them before they get home

We said goodbye to Joey and Witchy today. We wish them all the very best in their new home. Two very cool little kaimanawa ponies.
Sadly the ferry crossing today was too rough for Epic, April and wee Ruru to start their journey south.

Finally Hawkes bay got some much needed rain! I discovered it’s not a good idea to rush around trying to get lawn mowed with newly mustered kaimanawa close by! Also discovered Suma, Witchy and Alina most likely won’t be Grand Prix jumpers!😀
Had a few fences to fix and horses in different paddocks! Which caused massive filly fights to break up!
These wee ladies have to be the nastiest madams to each other we have ever had!
Horses are now getting daily float rides in preparation for some leaving in Monday on a float.

Gelding day today, do easy morning for the fillies. All had time with us in the paddock but left them to it otherwise

This mare is Mylonite!! The timid mare from last muster who had so much trouble accepting people in her life. Jen Ravens has been working away quietly with her and look at this!! Jen had done an amazing job. Mylonite is looking for a new home. She would excel at liberty. Enjoys being ridden has recently been to a small club level dressage day and did amazing. Is a little shy around people but is coming out of her skin now. So would need to choose her person. Also on this note, the amazing Jen Ravens is also looking for a new place to live. Somewhere where she can bring her 3 horses, and her talents handling training horses are amazing.

Just a few photos for the owners of these beautiful kaimanawa ponies to see. A day of quiet for these guys, after a very stressful 48 hours. They ate, slept, ate some more, drank, slept. Says it all. Tomorrow will be much of the same. All babies in our yards this year. And they need time to process. I spent the day just sitting with them. Feeling their grief, their loss. This will take time to change. They have lost everything they know. I take this onboard. I feel this too.

The kaimanawa horses turned up at my yards late last night, as the wind howled overhead. Then this morning we woke to a frost. Thankfully today is a stunner, so these beauties can rest and settle into their new surroundings.
All these horses are destined for the South Island

Tanesha & I have space for limited numbers to handle for this muster. Please contact us if you are thinking about taking on a kaimanawa

Kaimanawa krazy has been very silent in recent months.
We have a large herd of horses on farm at present to look after.
So sadly we are unable to take on more from the muster, and that breaks my heart. But we currently have horses that need homes. Details in pinned post.
We will handle a small number for other people from the muster. But only horses under 2. Space is limited.
Anyone interested please message.
