To my human moms & dads, this is what happens to my paws when you take me out in the scorching sun ☀️ when the pavement is so hot !

Remember I sweat through my paws, so in this heat I can’t get rid of my sweat as my paws are burning. Missing my walk won’t harm me. Please let me just relax indoors and take me out when the sun is down🐾

If you see someone walking their dog on hot pavement, ask them to take off their shoes for the remainder of their walk home. Maybe then they'll understand.

As the weather begins to get nicer and you take your kiddos to a local pond or lake to feed the ducks and geese, please keep this bit of info in mind.🙏🙏🙏
Another FYI
Feeding bread causes permanent damage to ducks and geese. They develop angel wing. They can not migrate or fly to avoid predators. PLEASE DO NOT FEED BREAD to ducks and geese. Cracked corn, corn, peas, mealworms, romaine lettuce, watermelon, grapes CUT into pieces, cantaloupe……are a few good options!

When you decide to release “in memory of" balloons, they don’t go where you hope and think they will. They usually end up in a field where livestock are. Often, young calves or goats will chew on/eat the balloons…

Ingesting plastic such as a trash bag or a balloon can cause intestinal blockage in animals. This may cause starvation. Some livestock may even choke on the balloon, causing a very painful death.

For wildlife and even PETS, they can become entangled in the balloon strings, causing them not to be able to move or even strangling them.

I understand the sentiment behind releasing balloons and the grief felt from losing a loved one. BUT there are so many other options!

- Plant a flower garden or make a rock garden in memory of a loved one.
- Plant a tree and watch it grow.
- Host an “In Memory” Celebration WITHOUT releasing balloons.
- Name a star.

Remember: releasing balloons may give you a moment of comfort, but somebody else may be hurt by the consequences.

EDIT TO ADD: This goes for trash bags as well. Please, don't dump out trash on the road side!

‼️URGENT HELP NEEDED

💔Annabel is still in desperate need of help. Currently in West Chester, Ohio her veteran dad is going into assisted living and is being forced to surrender her. Please help us find her the happy ending he is so hoping we can find for her.

For those missed her story...

Today we received a heartbreaking letter from one of our veteran adopters. William and Annabel have shared an incredible love story...a bond they have shared since 2015. He came into her life when she needed him the most. Sadly he is being forced to surrender her as he is being moved into assisted living and cannot take her with him. He is devastated and he is desperate for us to find her a loving home that she can live out the years she has left. She is now 10 1/2 years old and loves people. Unfortunately she needs to be an only dog and no cats.

🙏Please help us find Annabel the perfect home so William can live out the rest of his days knowing she's loved and cared for. Her favorite thing to do is bask in the sunshine beneath the large magnolia tree for hours on end. We would love to find her a fenced in yard she can still enjoy her time outside.
