After guiding Outlaw Blue Isle to her first Fillies & Mares Preferred win on Friday, Dave Kelly engineered the winning trip with stablemate Bonus Round in the Preferred Pace on Saturday, April 20 at Century Downs to give that pacer his first top class tally.

8 years ago today, Ryan Campbell and I were driving across the country when we lost the greatest guy in the world! There’s no one I looked up to more than Pop. Today we’re also driving across the country but with Bonus Round on his trek to take on the Gold Cup and Saucer! Nobody would love this more than him. I remember how excited he was the one day at Northside Downs he came into the paddock and we had Lonestar hot stuff and Presidential rage in the top class and he said “geeeez didn’t think I’d ever have 1 in the winners over let alone two”. Well Pop I didn’t think I’d ever have one good enough to go to the Gold Cup but I sure wish you were here to enjoy it with me !
