I have this weird stress about riding in this arena (not a clue where it stems from) so I finally went in there and Billie was super, I’ve only taken him in there a few times and he has never disappointed, and to even pop over some little fences was everything 🥰 so thankful and lucky for this amazing horse 😇 #5yo #OTTB @first_light_racing @rv_offthetrack

Last week was tough, not like every week offers it challenges but this one was different. Physically and mentally straining on a body that already yearns for a break. Riding for a living is a dream, a getaway every single time I put my foot in the stirrup. But man can it go south fast.
Mentally I’m quite strong when it comes to falls and mishaps but last week was different, last week I gave up and couldn’t do it. I rode and rode until I got home and exhaustingly shut down.
For the first time yesterday I spent quality time with my own horses, I took away the clock and shut out the world and took every moment in. I spent time brushing them, hugging them and appreciating the small things. If I hadn’t of done that yesterday I wouldn’t have loved the first horse of the morning today. I wouldn’t have been excited for each and every horse I rode today. Because two days ago, I was scared. Scared of how much my body was bruised, scared of how damaged my mindset and mentality was and scared of how others would think of me.
Life really did knock me on my knees last week and said ‘slow down, enjoy every little moment before you have no seconds left’
The clothes I’m wearing were those that were worn the few days that I wanted to give up. The @hlhequestrianapparel long sleeves covered me in bruises rather than cuts, the @qjridingwear compression Harper tights kept my legs from swelling. Every piece of clothing I ever wear, always counts towards protecting my body.
Take every moment and learn from it. Everything happens for a reason and we are all here to live our best lives.
I’m so in love with how friendly this boy is, it’s always a dream come true when a horse genuinely just always wants to be with you.

Never overthink a situation. Take small steps to creating big things. Never have too big of expectations but never, ever stop dreaming. 💕
