Rosie is a beautiful 2 year old, 64 lb Chocolate Lab. She loves to spend her time outside playing with the other dogs and playing fetch. She could play fetch for hours! She is crate-trained and house-trained in her foster home. She loves attention and being pet. She also loves chew toys - she hasn't chewed on anything inappropriate in her foster home but definitely needs lots of benebones and nylabones in her forever home.

Rosie is very sweet and loving. She is not suited for a home with children under 5

We were told by the person who surrendered him to us that he was a Chihuahua/Poodle mix, but we believe other possible breeds include: Rat Terrier and/or Fox Terrier. He is a little bit shy when meeting new people, but quickly opens up and shows off his cute, fun, and sweet personality. Heartbroken to see this program ending but hopeful that we can at least find homes for the remaining dogs in the detention center so they don’t have to stop over at a separate foster home on the way to forever.

Tien is a 5-6 year old, Shepherd mixed breed that is so deserving of his second chance at a new beginning. He is such a gentle soul, but needs a home where he is the only dog. Although he does play with Jail Dogs Kaiser and Nala, Tien needs time to decompress in a home and get used to being outside of the detention center. A home with a fenced yard to play in and a couple of teenagers to hang with would be a great fit. Tien loves people and could possibly be introduced to other dogs at a later time. Chester is an adorable 1 year old, 15 lb scruffy terrier. He is an intelligent, energetic, loyal, snuggly boy. He is curious, joyful, and loves to explore everything. He is very food motivated and eager to please. He truly just wants to be right by your side.

When we first got Chester, he didn't know how to leash walk - he is getting better on a leash every day in his foster home loves to go on long walks. He does well with other dogs, but large dogs do make him a little nervous initially but he overcomes that quickly. He loves toys and likes to bury them in the couch, too.

Chester loves his food, treats, and attention. He needs some work on potty training and being left alone. He wants to please and responds well to training cues. He is just an adorable little guy. Time spent training will be exponentially rewarded with this exceptional sweetie. So many fun adventures await the person or family that offers him his forever home!

Mini teddy bear!

Jude is 13 lbs and around 2 years old. He is a tiny bit shy at first but warms up very quickly. Jude loves to give kisses and be right by your side. He loves to be pet and to run around to play with other dogs. Jude is crate-trained in his foster home and very food motivated. He will do just about anything for some treats!

Jude enjoys being cuddled and enjoys exploring in his foster mom's fenced in yard. He does know how to leash walk but needs a little work on that, but with some treats and patience, he will be great! He is a really sweet, silly boy who will make someone very happy!

A perfect little scruffy gentleman!

We are puzzled that Higgins is not getting much interest. He is a great dog and super cute! He came to us from animal control because his former family had too many dogs.

Higgins is a sweet 2 years old and 19 lb terrier mix. He enjoys playing with other dogs and the children in his foster home. He is quick to give kisses and loves to be loved on. He will happily snuggle you anytime you would like. He is doing good learning to walk on a leash and has been doing well with potty training thus far but it's too soon to tell if he's 100% house-trained.

He is great with other dogs and welcomes new visitors into the house with a tail wag and a little bit of jumping up out of excitement. He is doing well in a crate but doesn’t spend a lot of time in one and when he is crated, another dog is in the crate beside him. He is a sweet boy that loves to be loved on and enjoys giving kisses to all of his human friends.

Max is about 4 years old and 18 lbs. He is an incredibly snuggly and affectionate dog. He loves to burrow under the covers with his foster mom to get cozy. Although a tiny bit shy at first, once Max bonds to you - he is a velcro dog and your loyal best friend. He will follow you everywhere you go if you'll let him. He is pretty low-key for the most part but does get zoomies in the fenced in yard and enjoys chasing tennis balls, too.

Max is house-trained in his foster home on a schedule and crate-trained, though he is not too fond of the crate.

Being a hairless dog, Max needs his skin protected and he gets cold, so he wears pajamas and shirts. His skin is sensitive.

Max really loves toys and will carry them around everywhere. He will even bring them under the blankets with him. He is looking for a home where he is the only pet so he can get all of the love and attention

Max is an incredibly loving, special dog and we know he will bring immense joy to whoever adopts him. His foster mom absolutely adores him and can't wait for him to find his loving forever family who will provide just as much happiness to him as he will to them. He is the cutest, silliest dog and whoever adopts him will be blessed with a loyal companion.

Urgent adopter or foster needed by 05/25/23. Zaraki is not doing well in the shelter environment and we have run out of placement options. He needs a home as soon as possible.

Zaraki has struggled with being leashed while in the shelter environment, which presents many challenges when getting him out of his kennel for walks and outside time. When being leashed in his kennel, Zaraki excessively grabs and tugs at his leash due to the intense anxiety the stressful shelter causes him. Once outside, he does very well, but leaving the kennel is anxiety inducing for him. Given the crowded conditions at our shelter and Zaraki’s resulting anxiety around being leashed up, he really needs to leave the shelter environment as soon as possible. Overall, Zaraki is a very sweet boy when he is out in the yard and absolutely loves playing with toys. He's a big fan of fetch and plays gently. He is a smart boy who already knows a few tricks, and he’s so ready to learn more! Zaraki has done well with other dogs, kids, and cats as reported by his previous foster home.

Zaraki’s ideal home:
🐾 Zaraki has done well with dogs, children and cats.
🐾 A family who can help him with leash manners and training so he can comfortably be leashed and enjoy leashed walks.

She's 1.5 yrs old and just 37 lbs of cute and cuddly. Maisy loves to play with her smaller dog foster brother (but he is way over her and will be happy to see her go). She does well with dogs her size or smaller and has been intimidated by bigger dogs. And she will protect you from her arch enemy, the scary vacuum! 😂 She's a smarty pants who knows all her basic commands. She's also potty trained and crate trained, and sleeps in her crate at night. Buck has all the pieces to be an absolutely amazing dog and definitely a heart dog for anyone who has a little bit of patience for him. He spent the first two years of his life with little if any direction (he just learned ”sit” in the last two weeks) but he’s extremely food and toy motivated and learns really quickly. He’s adjusting well to crate training which is strongly recommend as he hasn’t yet learned that shoes and remotes don’t belong to him. He’d benefit from group training classes, but it doesn’t need to be anything fancy, Petsmart type training would be fine.

He really shines in public settings. He is incredibly dog friendly and loves all people, but isn’t overly pushy with either. He is a dream on a leash even without much training. He’s good in the car and may even be cat friendly - the two in his foster home have mostly avoided him but limited interactions have been positive. He’s a solid medium energy. A two mile walk to the park was a bit too much for him but he does need some outlet and mental stimulation to settle. For training purposes his foster hasn’t let him on the couch or bed, which he seems fine with, but he’s very cuddly and would probably enjoy both if you allow that kind of thing in your home. He’s obsessed with squeaky toys and specifically big squeaky tennis balls, but he doesn’t really fetch. As you can see he’s a stunner and he’s a big goofy one at that - 81lbs per his last weigh-in but could stand to put on 10 or so more. Best guess is that he’s some sort of German Shepherd mix.

Buck is available for adoption through Orphan Annie Rescue. He is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all of his shots.

Ollie is a 17 lb, 3 year old mixed breed dog. His foster mom says he is the sweetest little guy ever who loves to cuddle and be close. He wants eyes on her at all times.

He does well with other dogs but does need to be fed separately from them - this is simple - just feed him in a separate room or in a crate.
So far, Ollie has been house trained on a schedule and will let you know if he needs to potty by pacing and acting a bit uncomfortable.
Ollie is gentle and sweet. He prefers women over men but is fine with men too - he just needs a little time to warm up to them. No children under 13 please.

Ollie likes to run in the yard and is playful with other dogs.

Puppies!

is a 2 year old, 81 lb mixed breed pup. He has two different color eyes and a gorgeous coat. Buck is a big ole boy who is teeming with potential. He’s never met a person or a dog he didn’t like, but he’s very polite about approaching either. He’s also pretty sure he likes cats but the two in his foster home either slap him or run away which is quite confusing for a guy who just wants to be friends with everyone.

While he will benefit from continued training, he’s naturally quite gentle on the leash and despite his size isn’t the type to drag you across the street to greet someone. He’s highly treat and toy motivated and eager to please. He’s a little bit of a homebody but with some encouragement will happily follow along to wherever you’d like to go and has been quiet and calm in public.

Buck is medium energy and quite entertained by the TV and squeaky toys. He’s more likely to be a Netflix buddy than a long distance running buddy. He appears to be house trained and does well in his crate.

UPDATE: ADOPTED!

It’s heartbreaking that we still don’t have a home for Rocket. Imagine waiting 1.5 years for your forever home. He is in a foster home but he wants his own humans to love.

Rocket is around 35-40 lbs and is about 2.5 years old. He is very affectionate and loves to be brushed. As soon as he sees a dog brush come out, he is at full attention and will flop over begging for his belly and chest to be brushed.

That being said, he can still be quite independent and entertain himself. He fancies himself an expert squirrel hunter and will bay at the base of trees if she sees one run up. Once the threat of squirrel intruders has been eliminated, you'll often find him sunbathing on a soft patch of grass or curled up in a chair.

Rocket has a medium energy level and settles well after a moderate amount of activity. He has medium food and toy drive and enjoys playing fetch and tug. Rocket is also a fan of the water hose and will bark excitedly if he thinks he might get a chance to chase the stream of water.

He LOVES other dogs and is exceptionally tolerant and playful with dogs of all different sizes and ages. While it's not a requirement, we think he would be very happy to share his home with another sweet, playful dog or dogs.

Rocket enjoys having routine and clear boundaries and expectations. He will thrive in a home where he can look up to his humans as leaders who will keep him safe and provide confident guidance. He can sometimes be reserved with new people and in new environments or situations but warms up quickly and will be giving kisses in no time.

Anna is a 3.5 month old, 24 lb Labradoodle puppy. We rescued her and her brother from animal control because their owner could no longer care for them. Anna is a shy girl but she loves playing with other dogs and toys. Other dogs bring her confidence out so we are looking to place her into a home with at least one other dog. She also loves to snuggle!

She is crate-trained and alerts her foster dad when she has to go out to potty. She is very smart and eager to learn.
