Rosey is stopping in to say hi! She's staying toasty warm in her stylish coat, and enjoying life with her foster family. Our girl is getting old and she's got some medical issues - arthritis, ongoing skin issues that are being managed, and early kidney disease - but she's still got a ton of pep in her step and is just loving being loved! She's one of our forever-foster dogs in the rescue ... her fosters love her as their own and she loves them right back again. <3
Larry is doing well in his new foster home.
Having been adopted from us in 2020, and coming back to us recently after a short stay at animal control after he ran off and was found roaming, this boy was stressed and still needs some time to decompress before he finds a new forever. Larry's family had already reached out to us because they could no longer care for him, and we had already agreed to take him back into the rescue, when he ended up with animal control.
In just a week in his foster home, Larry is doing GREAT!
He and the kitties in the home have come to an understanding with each other :) He's enjoying being outside and getting some exercise during the past couple of days of warmer weather. He's sleeping well, eating well, doing all the things a dog should do and avoiding most of the things dogs shouldn't do :) While outside on his run, he's shown an interest in sticks - the bigger the better 🤣
Basically he's settled down and is settling in, and his foster family says h's a really good boy. :)
Larry is good with other dogs, good with cats, and loves people. He'll live happily with children who are old enough to be steady on their feet. Although he's 6-1/2 years old he's an energetic boy and could knock over little ones.
He is happiest when he's with his family. He bonds quickly and strongly, and you'll have a loving, loyal companion for life.
He's totally used to living in a house and knows basic manners (even though he may "forget" occasionally when he gets excited.
If you have a fenced-in yard it would be a huge plus for Larry, but isn't a requirement to adopt from us.
We'll give preference to families with experience with bully breed dogs.
If you'd like to get a jump start on an adoption application, understanding that it will be a little while before he's ready to be adopted, please fill out an application at our website: https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application
Fiona is still looking for her forever family. She's waited a long time and she's such an adorable girl! To adopt Fiona please fill out our application: https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application
Fiona has come SO FAR since she came to us several years ago. She's finally overcoming her past (she came from a horrible hoarding situation) and has done GREAT in her foster home! She's not so scared of new people anymore, and is even happy to go for walks on a leash!!!
She loves other dogs and we'd like to see her in a home with at least one other dog. She'd love a fenced in yard where they can play together.
We're looking for a family for Fiona with a quiet lifestyle and experience with rescue dogs. She'll need some time to get to know you - if she has that, you'll be rewarded with a steadfast, loyal, lovable, friendly, funny family member!

Jaidyn went to a wonderful rescue/sanctuary organization just about a week ago. She's always been a dog who takes time to trust, but she has warmed right up to the people who run it! She's smiling a lot, and settling into a rhythm of life in their home. We're so grateful to them, and to HEAL-Humanity Empathy Animal Love - Foundation . HEAL facilitated her transfer and gave the receiving rescue a very generous grant! They had been involved in Jaidyn's life since she was about 5 and in danger of euthanasia at Brookhaven Shelter. Now Jaidyn is about 10, and likely to be a sanctuary dog and live out her years being loved beyond measure in her new home. FFFR is raising funds to benefit HEAL, so that they continue their mission to help dogs like Jaidyn! Happy Tails and Courtesy post for Pride Rock Rescue
You all saw Creed on our page when we were searching for a rescue or new family for him. Thankfully Pride Rock Rescue stepped up to help, and he is doing GREAT settling into a foster home with an awesome foster mom. He has a doggy brother, and they're getting to know each other, and he's being given plenty of time to settle in, decompress, and reorient himself after this big change in his life.
On Tuesday he'll go for his vet appointment. He'll have vaccines and tests, and hopefully a diagnosis for his significant skin issues and be able to begin treatment for them.
The estimate for the appointment is $280.27 (see estimate posted in the comments) and that is only the very beginning of what he'll need. Like all rescues, PRR depends on the generosity of donors. Please donate towards Creed's medical care directly to PRR:

Trying again - we've had no interest for Duke! How can that be? He's handsome, and he's a great dog! His mom sent us this video - just look at his playful self :)
Courtesy Post - this dog is not in our rescue
We told Duke's mom that we would post and network to find him a new home. As part of our direct rehoming program, FFFR will be screening applicants. Any adoption will be directly between Duke's current family and his new family.
There is no adoption fee since the adoption is directly between the owners, not through the rescue. Required basic veterinary care (vet visit, vaccines, tests, and spay/neuter) will be coordinated by the rescue and the owners will be responsible for covering any costs not covered by donations.
*RESCUES: If you have a place for Duke, please private message the page for more information or call 203-910-5693.
*POTENTIAL ADOPTERS: FFFR will be screening applications - please fill one out at https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application
Duke is just soooooo handsome! He's a really good boy, too! His mom is working very long hours - sometimes as many as 12 hrs at a stretch. He's not doing well with that much "alone" time, and she wants what's best for him. She has asked us to help find a new home for him.
About 8 years old
Husky/lab mix
Shy with new people - warms up quickly - no aggression, just shy
Anxious in new situations
Good with older children
Best as an only pet
Happiest when he's with his people - retired or work-at-home owner would be great for him!
Moderate energy - enjoys playing catch and swimming but also a huge cuddle-bug
Crate trained
Knows basic commands
Neutered
Due for rabies vaccine
Current with other vaccines
Let's work hard to find Duke his new family!
URGENT! DEADLINE FOR PLACEMENT IS 6/10!
Courtesy post - this dog is not in our rescue.
We were contacted a few days ago by an advocate for several dogs. A friend of hers has helped dogs for years - both through rescues and as an independent rescuer. Now her home is in foreclosure, and she needs placement for several dogs. We'll be posting each of them separate. This is *time sensitive*. The preference is that they go to rescue. *If you represent a rescue that can place any of these dogs, please private message our page or information!*
Introducing Georgie! :)
Georgie is a 2-1/2 year old pit mix. He came with his mom and family from Texas and was only supposed to be with her for a couple of weeks. He's been there since (rescue disappeared evidently).
Georgie is dog selective but can do well with other dogs with proper introductions. There is one dog on the property who he had an issue with - otherwise he has done pretty well with other dogs.
He's high energy and smart, but lacks socialization and is nervous with people he doesn't know.
Georgie needs to be vetted, and be with a family with breed experience who can give him training and social skills. He's a great dog and deserves a great rescue to take over and help him to reach his very best forever!
Fiona (the white and tan pointer mix in the video) is still looking for her forever family. She's a sweet, gentle, timid girl who will make a wonderful family member. To adopt, please fill out an application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application
Fiona has come SO FAR since she came to us - now almost 3 years ago. She was one of 33 dogs who was rescued from an awful hoarding situation. The rescue who saved them asked for our help, and FFFR took several of them, Fiona among them.
She spent a very long time in a foster home with multiple small dogs, and then moved into her current foster home with two dogs a bit larger than she is.
She gets along with dogs of all sizes, but in her new foster home she has really thrived. She loves playing with the foster family's dog and running around in their fenced yard! Although still a timid soul (she probably always will be), she's come out of her shell a LOT. She's no longer totally terrified when she meets new people, and has even learned to walk on a leash and enjoy hikes with the whole family!
We'd like to see Fiona in a home with at least one other dog. Her ideal family will have a quiet lifestyle. She isn't a dog who would do well in a home where lots of people go in and out frequently. She's not aggressive at all in that circumstance - she just wants to hide! She'll do best in an adult home or one with older children - the fast movements and loud voices of little ones could scare her.
Fiona is house trained, crate trained, and knows all of her basics. She's completely accustomed to living in a home. If you have a bit of patience while she gets to know you and relaxes, you'll have a wonderful, loving, loyal companion and new family member!

Kona needs a home by June 1! Please read her story (it's a bit long, but please do read it), and if you can foster or adopt, fill out an application - https://www.furryfriendsct.org/foster-application or https://www.furryfriendsct.org/adoption-application
Originally, Kona became an FFFR dog in January, 2017, when she was still a puppy - just about one year old. Two of Kona's advocates reached out to us. She had been with another rescue. The fosters could not keep her any longer. And the rescue was talking about euthanasia because Kona wasn't - and isn't - good with other animals. FFFR agreed to take her into the rescue. One of her advocates fostered her for quite some time. She also spent some time in boarding. Finally she found a wonderful foster who put her heart and soul into working with Kona, along with our rescue's trainer.
Kona matured. She grew up. She was still not able to live with other animals (she probably never will be), but she got her basics down pat, learned to walk nicely on a leash (except when she saw a bird ... or a squirrel ... or a chipmunk - she has a bit of a prey drive), learned all of her basics. She went through quite a few crates before we found one that worked for her - she wasn't a fan of being crated. The young Kona was definitely a "project" dog.
When a family reached out to us who knew her previous foster family, and said they wanted to adopt Kona, we were overjoyed. We told them she was high energy. We told them she needed consistency and clear expectations. We told them she had a high prey drive. We told them she didn't do well with young children. They said they understood. And we adopted out Kona, excited that she had found a wonderful forever family.
The years passed. As sometimes happens, the family's memory of what we had told them either dimmed, or else they believed Kona had changed, or that they could manage a new situation with her. We honestly don't know. They had a baby. The baby turned into a
