Our first ever dog show. My first purebred Bichon named Lolly, she is only 6 months old and we did great at the Red Deer Alberta dog show. Many more to come.

Time flies! I can't believe that it has already been 12 years in my new building, and 23 years since I started my grooming business in Kimberley.

My family goes back four generations at the Sullivan Mine in Kimberley. My great-grandfather, grandfather, dad and older brother all worked there. I wanted to take a different path.

I started grooming my own dog when I was 16. When I turned 19 I went to a specialized grooming school in Calgary. After graduating I opened my business in Hide Away Kennels in Meadowbrook. After a year there I moved to the veterinary building in town and stayed there for many years. In 2011 I bought a vacant lot on the main highway in town and custom built my grooming shop. I put a lot of thought and planning into every detail, from dedicated electrical circuits for blowers to specialized plumbing for bathing systems.

Today I also have a retail section in the front where I sell a wide variety of treats, dog food, coats, toys, brushes and more.

Thank you to my family, friends and customers for your support all these years. My customers are more than that, they are like my family. I appreciate each and every one of you. Thank you.

I entered a clipper competition in Chilliwack, BC at the West Coast Groom Fest, attended seminars to stay current on the latest techniques and trends, and caught up with other groomers in the industry. Thank you to Olga Zabelinskaya who came from the US to judge and Barb Prueckel for her always insightful and energetic seminars.
