Exposing puppies to sounds at an early age reduces the risk of fearfulness of noises later on in life, like fireworks sirens, thunderstorms and gunshots. These six week old, labrador retriever puppies are not concerned.

This Mexican blanket gives puppies amazing traction while feeding, reducing the risk of hip dysplasia later in life. Slippery floors, at this stage, can hind healthy hip development.

We also X-ray our parent dogs hips and elbows before considering breeding so pups are not genetically predisposed to this debilitating disorder.

At three days old, we started our Early Scent Detection today with orange peel. This little boy was surprisingly engaged by the smell. With eyes and ears still shut, their sense of smell Is well developedloped from birth. Thirteen more days of this. We use the Avidog system.

Puppies need to see a vet at 8 weeks to get their vaccinations, deworming meds and their microchips put in. It’s important to follow up at 12 weeks and 16 weeks to complete their vaccination protocol.
