When a butterfly lands near you and you begin to photograph it and it stays, flutters in situ and reaches out with it’s long proboscis to touch your finger…now this is a moment of awe, inspiration and is humbling. Butterflies are sensitive and delicate; their wings are exquisitely painted with a powdery essence which when touched are easily harmed. They flutter away from it at all costs. When they choose to stay - there is integrity, safety and the knowing that intention is to view beauty in a shared moment; not to grasp it but to set it free (something humans often cannot resist - they pluck and hold).

This butterfly stayed (what a sight indeed!). Not only did it stay, it reached out with its long proboscis to touch my finger. I was speechless and savored the moment.
