The story of my cat Bessie to whom I call the Wonder Kitty. Many years ago, my son Brent had heard about a house that had over 90 cats in rescue. He took his little toddler daughter Brooklyn to the animal rescue place to pick one out. She picked out the most homely cat there. The cat looked mean and sick with strange fur. The cat was very affectionate, sweet and friendly but sad. Brent was told that it was beleived that she was the mother of many of the other cats found in the house. After the adoption they had the cat for a couple of months. Upon moving time they were not able to take the cat with. I was asked to take her and to find her a new home or just keep her. I had already had two cats of my own. I took her to people that wanted a cat. I found that people were mean to her because of her looks they didn't want her upon seeing her. One lady yelled, "Get that ugly cat out of here." I couldn't see letting her go to anybody who would mistreat her, plus my granddaughter really loved her and I couldn't see separating them. I decided to keep her. She was very precious. A few months went by and I was noticing changes in her looks and she wasn't following me around as much. She transformed into a very beautiful cat with very soft fur and was not so much in need of attention as she was not in distress. She had really unique markings in her fur that were not noticed before due to the dull color and film that was on her. So the love and care that she had gotten from my son, granddaughter, myself and my cat babysitter. She changed into this beautiful cat. I suppose that she had not had any time to heal after having so many litters of babies and having to care for them all and not getting good healthy food. Suddenly people started to notice her and were wanting her. I'd say no she's my cat and my granddaughters cat as well. Here nobody wanted an old ugly cat but then many wanted the beautiful innocent looking sweet cat and here it was the same cat. I had her for 11 years and she was around 19 years old when she passed. After her healing she did not look her age until her last year of life, she kept her beauty. I called her the Boss kitty because could have what she wanted. She liked taking walks on a leash just like a dog. One night she got out for a couple hours and brought home about 6 mice and moles. The best mouser I have ever seen. I also called her the wonder kitty. Wonder how old you really are, wonder how you got such silky fur, wonder what all of your babies looked like, wonder what your mommy and daddy looked like, wonder how you stay looking so young, wonder how you survived so long with the sweet, lovely and gentle personality. She passed a few years ago and life has been different without her. Bessie the Wonder Kitty!
