Council has crunched the numbers to reveal Brisbane's most popular dog breeds.

Taking out top spot, the Labrador Retriever.

More than 9,000 are registered with Council.

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is the city's second most popular pooch.

The Border Collie, Maltese and Staffordshire Bull Terrier rounded out the top five.
