Guess who is finishing up his vet work! That's right Bazzley is! He is finished up with PT, his leg is doing great, and his neuter is next! After that, he will be ready to interview potential adopters! 😃 He needs to stay in the Wichita, Topeka, Kansas City general area. It's flexible, but no long distance transports.
He is not a cross country adoption candidate.

These girls are not available for adoption. They've been through a lot of trauma, they have medical issues, and at this point are going to a sanctuary foster.

Here are the girls, Dora and Chica. They will be going to a sanctuary foster home tomorrow. Tonight, they will sleep in a home. They are already so much more relaxed. I am so happy we could help them. And their big sister is safe too, though she is in her Rainbow Home. She was not alone when she passed. She heard her name and was loved. She is also a member of the MPMR Family. It is Forever.

Update:
We went ahead and did an emergency pull of all three girls this morning. The oldest one had become extremely lethargic so the shelter went ahead and released them all and we got them into the doctor. Unfortunately Freddy the oldest girl, passed away. Her blood work indicated liver and pancreas issues, and the vet felt a large mass in her tummy. Before any decision could be made, she slipped away peacefully. The other two girls are doing well and their blood work was okay other than showing some infection possibly from their teeth. Both have been started on antibiotics and have moved to an overnight Foster and then on to their forever foster tomorrow afternoon.

These little Lovelies may be joining the MPMR family next week. They are a part of a legal situation and we have to wait for the court decision. They are in Kansas. Stay tuned for updates. And we may need to beg for foster homes... 💕🐾🐾💕

Welcome Kayleigh to the Family! She was originally adopted years ago from the Wichita Animal shelter in Wichita KS. They did her spay, they chipped her. Fast forward to a week ago. Kayleigh was back at the shelter. They scanned her, tried to call all the numbers listed on her chip enrollment but no one answered. No one came. From the chip, we know her name. Kayleigh. That is a good thing. She has her Name. She will be seeing our vet and getting all ready for her new home! She will be available soon. She is located in the Topeka KS area.

New faces coming into MPMR and some recently arrived.

Kayleigh the old min pin girl is being sprung out of the shelter today, Sydney, the chi girl got out last week. Both are in KS.
The others are in our Ohio Foster home.

Heads up! You may see these green, brown, or black pod-like balls on the ground in your neighborhood at this time of the year. They are nuts from black walnut trees. The picture shows black walnuts in various sizes and stages of maturity and decay. Every part of a black walnut tree (nuts, shells, leaves, and wood) is highly toxic to dogs. The initial symptoms of black walnut poisoning include vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and loss of appetite, followed by tremors, seizures, and jaundice. The toxins in black walnut trees can be fatal to dogs if not treated promptly. Do not attempt to use any home remedies if your dog has ingested black walnut. Time is of the essence--get your dog to a vet immediately. (More info in the comments.)

Bazzley had his first PT appointment today. He did great in the water therapy tub! It was a little scary at first, but he soon got the hang of it. Afterwards, he got a pup cup, and a sleepy ride home and a nap.
Bazzley will be available for adoption soon. He is in the Wichita Kansas area.
