Rescue Me International Animal Foundation Rescue Me International Animal Foundation is a registered NGO in Spain and a registered 501c Nonprofit in the USA.

Our animal rescue efforts include our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program/year-round cat sterilization program, and fostering stray animals. Our director and charity board members reside in several locations and focus rescue efforts primarily in Sitges (Barcelona, Spain) and southeastern Iowa (Mahaska & Keokuk county). Our current priorities are year-round TNR programs (Trap Neuter Return) to control

community cat populations, and our palliative and hospice services for senior pets. We provide low cost spaying/neutering programs, veterinary care, and daily food to hundreds of animals between our locations. Our team is focused and committed to preventing and easing the unnecessary suffering of animals in our communities.

As I sit with a pregnant, exhausted homeless cat in my backseat, I am both relieved and excited for the future of our association.
Our mission is not complicated or controversial.

We strive to end the unnecessary suffering of homeless animals in our communities.

This cat is a perfect example of what we do.
Can you imagine being scared, alone and giving birth in this freezing cold?
Not to mention hungry☹️
She entered the trap with no drama, once she saw the food offered. And now that’s she warm, she’s literally sound asleep in the trap.

No animal deserves that. We can do better.
And we are doing better.

Whether you’re in freezing cold Iowa 🇺🇸 or sunny, warm Spain 🇪🇸, our organization needs your help. In both our locations, we work year round to provide spay/neuter, veterinary care, shelter, food and an adoption platform for homeless animals in the community.

This is Oliver and he needs a forever home!!

I’ve been fostering him for 6 weeks now and he has morphed from a VERY scared street kitten into a wide-eyed purring MACHINE (he has the LOUDEST purr I have EVER heard!!!)

He’s only recently started to learn to cuddle but I’m convinced that he’s going to be a total love bug once he learns to fully trust.

While I love ALL cats, this guy is really special - it absolutely breaks my heart that I can’t adopt him myself but I travel too much (this is why I foster when I can) and he deserves a stable long term home.

He LOVES play time and treats. He is ok with other animals but needs a family that will be patient with him and allow him to integrate on his own terms - he’s still very wary of strangers and will take some time to learn that he can trust you!

¡¡Este es Oliver y necesita un hogar para siempre!!

He estado acogiéndolo durante seis semanas y se ha transformado de un gatito callejero MUY asustado en una MÁQUINA de ronroneos con ojos grandes (¡tiene el ronroneo MÁS FUERTE que he escuchado!)

Hace poco comenzó a aprender a acurrucar, pero estoy convencido de que va a ser un adicto completo una vez que aprenda a confiar plenamente.

Aunque amo a TODOS los gatos, este tipo es realmente especial - me rompe absolutamente el corazón que no pueda adoptarlo yo mismo, pero viajo demasiado (por eso soy casa acogida cuando puedo) y se merece un hogar estable a largo plazo.

Le ENCANTA el tiempo de juego y las golosinas. Está bien con otros animales, pero necesita una familia que sea paciente con él y le permita integrarse en sus propios términos - ¡todavía es muy cautelo con los extraños y se tomaré un tiempo para aprender que puede confiar en ti!
