our boy blue crossed the rainbow bridge, in the arms of his caretaker.

Once all the imaging and diagnostics were concluded, we had a clear answer:

Cancer.

He spent his last few days in the home of the family that has taken care of him for the last 3 years, who loved that grizzled old street cat - and had even tried to make him a housecat for a while, but Blue had other ideas.

He was loved and got to leave this world peacefully - which is an amazing ending for the story of a street cat.

New baby is still a lil shy, but Serendipity is starting to purr, and learning to play with her toys. She's still a little hissy, though. We're getting there!

Blue: a story in photos

We TNRd Blue in 2016 for a friend of a friend in Bellflower.

His original caretaker abandoned him but he found a new guardian angel who has been looking after him since last year, when she treated him for an abscess.

We got a call yesterday from SEAACA telling us that Blue was at the shelter, brought in by a good samaritan for his eye.

Our friend Teresa picked him up this morning and he has now been delivered to Primary for assessment.

We are fairly certain he's going to have to lose that eye.

We will post an update once the vet sees him.

In the meantime, thank you to Teresa for transporting today, and a big thank you yo SEAACA for always scanning eartipped cats and giving their caretakers a chance to reclaim them.

It takes a village!

So then this happened.

She was in the engine of a neighbor's vehicle at Jellicle Manor tonight.

She's tiny and she's terrified. Lucky for her, she's also loud.

The Matron heard her cries while feeding Beef and Big Head Fred. Fortunately the neighbor was home and was able to pop open the hood, where this little void sat atop the battery wondering what was even happening right now. She dove for a hiding spot deep inside the engine, but the Matron snatched her up before she could get down in there.
