I am honored to receive the Spirit of India Award from the Rotary Club of Madras Metro, presented by Dr. Palanivel Thiagarajan Avl, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Tamil Nadu. It was a truly proud and humbling moment to be recognized by a dignitary who himself is deeply compassionate toward animals.

The Spirit of India Awards were also presented to Captain Shalini Singh Avl, Dr. Ganesh Baraiya Avl, Radha Mani Amma Avl, and Syam Kumar SS Avl—four incredible individuals who have overcome immense challenges and dedicated themselves to the greater good. I am deeply honored to share this recognition with them.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Madras Metro for selecting me for this award. I believe this recognition is not just for me but for everyone who stands for animals—the dedicated caretakers at our sanctuary, veterinarians, kind-hearted supporters, and all those working selflessly to protect and care for animals across the world.

We received a distress call about a cow struggling on the streets with a severe open fracture—her bone was exposed, and maggots had infested the wound. 💔 She was in unbearable pain, abandoned and left to suffer.

Despite her agony, she kept moving, trying to survive. The people in the area said she had been struggling like this for days.

We couldn’t leave her there. We immediately rescued her and brought her to our sanctuary, where she is now receiving urgent medical care. Treatment has begun, but she has a long road to recovery ahead.

Please send your prayers and positive thoughts for her healing. She deserves a life free from suffering. ❤️🐮

Rescue Alert 🐄❤️
 While traveling, I came across a cow struggling to walk on three legs. Her hind hoof was completely deformed after being trapped in a wild boar snare, and the metal wire had wrapped around her leg, causing a severe wound. She had been suffering for over a month, roaming the roads in pain.

After some time and with the help of friends who stepped in to assist, we were able to rescue her. Now, she’s at our sanctuary, where she’s receiving the treatment she desperately needs.

A Second Chance at Life ✨🐮

Outside our sanctuary gate, we saw a truck—and inside was a helpless little soul, a male calf with a severely injured leg. His wound, left untreated for days, had become home to hundreds of maggots. 💔

This tiny boy had been run over by a vehicle, leaving him unable to walk. As with so many male calves, no one cared for him… until one kind soul decided he deserved a chance and sent him to us.

We immediately began treatment, cleaning his wound and giving him the care he so desperately needed. Slowly but surely, he’s starting to heal. His journey isn’t over yet, but he’s finally safe, loved, and on the road to recovery. 💙

Every life matters. Every soul deserves kindness. 🕊️

I got a call about a young male calf struggling to survive on the streets—walking on just three legs for over a month! 💔

When we reached him, we discovered the heartbreaking truth: he had been run over by a vehicle long ago, leaving his hind leg fractured. Yet, he received no medical care and was left to fend for himself—simply because he was born male. In the dairy industry, male calves are often seen as ‘waste’—many are sent to slaughter, while others are abandoned to suffer on the streets.

We couldn’t let that be his fate. 💙 We rescued him and brought him to our sanctuary, where he will finally receive the love and care he deserves. Though his leg has healed incorrectly, making it impossible for him to walk on all fours again, he will live a safe, comfortable, and happy life with us.

Every life matters. Every being deserves compassion. 🌱✨

I received a call from local residents reporting that a male calf had been lying and occasionally standing in the same spot for three days, unable to walk. Upon visiting the location, we discovered that he had sustained a fracture in his front leg after being hit by a vehicle.

After notifying the authorities, we immediately rescued him and brought him to our sanctuary for treatment.

Our veterinarian diagnosed him with a closed fracture in the left metacarpal bone. Despite his injury, he was consuming food and water normally. The fracture was carefully reduced, and a plaster of Paris (POP) bandage was applied. He was also treated with antibiotics, antihistamines, anti-inflammatory medication, and a B-complex supplement to support his recovery.

We are closely monitoring his progress and are dedicated to ensuring his full rehabilitation.

Rescued with Love and Hope 💔🐄
We witnessed a heartbreaking yet hopeful story of resilience.
This gentle cow was tragically run over by a vehicle, leaving her with a severe open fracture in her front leg. She lay on the road for hours, bleeding and in unimaginable pain, her bone exposed. 💔

The moment we received the call, we rushed to the spot and brought her to the sanctuary. Our dedicated veterinary team immediately began her treatment and carefully splinted her injured leg. With support, she has shown incredible strength and is now able to stand. 🩹🐾

Her journey to recovery will be long, but she’s in the best hands and surrounded by love. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she heals. 💕

A Heartfelt Welcome and a Tearful Goodbye

Today, we experienced a bittersweet moment at our sanctuary. We welcomed a precious newborn calf into our care—her eyes wide with wonder and her tiny steps hesitant yet hopeful. While we are overjoyed to provide her a safe haven, our hearts are heavy knowing her mother couldn’t make it.

We received an urgent call about a cow who passed away shortly after giving birth. Though we rushed to rescue the calf, her mother was already gone. With love and respect, we brought the mother to our sanctuary for burial, giving her a dignified farewell.

It’s a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the strength of compassion. While we mourn her mother’s loss, we are committed to ensuring this little one grows up surrounded by love, care, and kindness.

Rest in peace, dear mother. Your legacy lives on in your calf, who will now be cherished as part of our sanctuary family. ❤️🐄

📢 Welcome to Safety, Brave Soul 💚

This resilient bull arrived at our sanctuary yesterday, and his story is one of pain and hope.

💔 During training for Jallikattu, his leg was severely injured. Unable to stand, many pressured his ‘owner’ to sell him to slaughterhouses—a grim reality for most bulls who get injured or lose in Jallikattu events.

But Bhagiyaraj decided to not sell to slaughterhouse but hand over to our sanctuary after watching our videos! He traveled all the way from Tirupur to bring this bull to safety. 🛡️

Currently, this brave bull has a fractured front leg and nerve damage in his hind leg. Our dedicated veterinary team has started his treatment, and we are optimistic about his recovery.

Let’s pray for his speedy healing and show him the love and care he truly deserves. 🙏💞

🌟 Rescue Story of the Week 🌟

Last week, a beautiful 8-month-pregnant cow came under our care after her previous caretaker was unable to manage her condition. She was suffering from a uterine prolapse—a serious medical issue that required urgent attention.

💔 Despite the challenging situation, we saw in her eyes the will to fight and protect the little life growing inside her. Our team quickly sprang into action to ensure she received the best care possible.

🐾 Treatment Details:
Our dedicated veterinarian carefully performed the following procedures:
🔹 Administered epidural anesthesia to reduce pain.
🔹 Cleaned the pr*****ed mass with potassium permanganate (KMnO4).
🔹 Relieved the urinary obstruction caused by the prolapse.
🔹 Repositioned the pr*****ed mass back to its original position.
🔹 Applied a vulval tape retention suture to prevent recurrence.
🔹 Supported her recovery with antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, B-complex supplements, and antihistamines.

💪 Her recovery journey is ongoing, but she’s already showing signs of improvement. This courageous mom-to-be is proof of how resilient animals are when given the love and care they deserve.

✨ Every life is precious, and at our sanctuary, we’re committed to giving animals like her a second chance at a happy, healthy life.

🌟 A Night to Remember: A Challenging Rescue 🌟

Last night, we faced one of the most challenging rescues in our sanctuary’s history.

A call from Mr. Dinesh alerted us to a heart-wrenching situation—a young calf was found on the road with its rumen (part of its stomach) protruding, likely after being hit by a vehicle. The injury was severe, and immediate action was crucial.

Upon arrival at our sanctuary, Dr. B. Sharmila and Dr. Ajay Palani sprang into action. The calf underwent an intricate, life-saving surgery that lasted nearly two hours. The doctors worked tirelessly to place the rumen back inside and suture the wounds. It was a race against time, but every effort was made to give this little one a fighting chance.

We are anxiously hoping for the calf’s recovery. None of this would have been possible without:
🐾 The skilled and dedicated doctors who stepped up without hesitation.
🐾 Our incredible team who supported the rescue and surgery.
🐾 Mr. Dinesh, who didn’t just walk away but chose to act and ensured this calf got the help it desperately needed.

Heartbreaking moments like this remind us why we do what we do. 💔

Yesterday, I witnessed one of the most devastating scenes imaginable. A newborn buffalo calf, just a few hours old, was run over by a truck. The accident left him with severe injuries to his front and hind legs—his hind leg was completely crushed.

The calf’s owner, desperate to save him, brought him to our sanctuary.

Our incredible vet and team sprang into action immediately. The bleeding has been controlled, and we’ve done everything possible to stabilize him. Now, we’re holding onto hope that this little fighter pulls through.

A special thanks to Sujatha ma’am for stepping in to support this rescue.

Today, we received a heart-wrenching call from Ms. Martina.
She found a young male calf by the roadside, his body covered in blood after being struck by a vehicle.  His pain was evident, his cries a plea for help.

When she reached out to his owner, she learned he had no means to provide the medical treatment which the calf needed and was planning to sell him for slaughter.
But Ms. Martina didn’t give up. She spoke with the owner, telling him about our sanctuary, a place where animals are given a second chance at life. Moved by her words, he agreed to entrust the calf to us for treatment and a new beginning.

Now, this brave little soul is safe in our sanctuary, receiving the care he desperately needs. With time, we hope his wounds, both seen and unseen, will heal. And once he recovers, he will live out his days in peace here, surrounded by love.

We are beyond grateful to share that two new cattle sheds and an ICU for our rescued animals were officially inaugurated yesterday, all thanks to the incredible support from Ambattur Youth Seva Mandal . 🐂💚

These new facilities will significantly improve the quality of care we provide to our animals, especially those in need of critical attention. The new ICU will help us cater to emergencies and ensure the well-being of our most vulnerable rescues.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire team at Ambattur Youth Seva Mandal for their generosity and unwavering dedication to helping animals. Mere words cannot express our gratitude to their team 🙏 Together, we continue working towards a brighter future for all creatures.

On October 1st, three men were caught capturing a stray bull that had wandered into the CRPF Ground. They cruelly tied his legs and were taking him to a slaughterhouse. Fortunately, after the Muthapudupet Police were alerted, they acted quickly, intervening just in time to prevent the bull’s slaughter.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the trio was part of a recurring operation, stealing cattle from the streets and slaughtering them.

The bull was in a highly aggressive and defensive state due to the severe injuries he had endured. Rescuing and safely transporting him to our sanctuary for treatment and care was no easy task.
However, this rescue would not have been possible without the prompt response of the Avadi Fire Station team, who arrived as soon as we called for assistance.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Muthapudupet Police and the Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Service personnel for their invaluable support. Thanks to Mrs. Meenakshi Vijayakumar ma’am, Former AD of Fire and Rescue Service Dept.

The bull is now safe in our sanctuary, receiving the treatment and care he desperately needs.

We received a call about a cow that had been lying on the service road along the highway for more than a day after being struck by an unidentified vehicle.

We acted quickly to rescue her and brought her to our sanctuary. Her condition is critical, and we’re doing everything we can to save her.

We were informed about a disturbing incident where a man was attacking stray dogs with a sharp metal chain in Chennai. Acting swiftly, we lodged a complaint at the Mangadu Police Station, which resulted in the filing of an FIR.We are hopeful that justice will be served. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tmt.
