Day before yesterday evening (17/08/2024), I came across a container truck near Acharapakkam. The truck’s long, extended body and the overflow of dung mixed with urine made it clear that it was transporting cattle.

I immediately alerted the Highway Patrol, and with their assistance, the truck was stopped. An FIR has been filed under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 11(1) (a, b, d & e) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, based on my complaint.

57 cattle were found in a severely dehydrated and exhausted state. Disturbingly, their eyes were red and tearful due to the insertion of green chilies, a cruel practice often used in cattle trafficking.
Injuries were found across their body.

The cattle are now in our sanctuary and under going treatment.

Sincere thanks to SP sir, DSP sir and all the police personnel.

Thank you,
Sai Vignesh

I refuse to give my 24 goats for slaughter!

That’s what Mr. Gopalakrishnan told us! After watching our awareness videos, he decided not to sell the goats he had been raising for slaughter. Instead, he chose to donate them to our sanctuary. The goats were transported from Coimbatore to our sanctuary last night.

Witnessing this act of kindness fills me with immense happiness. These goats, which would have ended up in a slaughterhouse, are now safe in our sanctuary thanks to Mr. Gopalakrishnan’s change of heart.
We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to him!

Thanks to Mrs. Prabitha ma’am for helping with the transport expenses.

Urgently need funds for fodder!
We purchased 542 bundles of hay at Rs. 220 per bundle. This stock will help us to feed 150+ cattle for the next one month.
Totally it has come to Rs. 1,19,240 and we need to clear the bill to the fodder seller.
Any amount of contribution would be greatly helpful 🙏🏼

We received an email from Nandhini ma’am that this calf was run over by a vehicle causing injury to the front and back leg a month ago.
It was shocking to know this calf was suffering for a month but at the same time, it is heartening to know that the reporter tried her best to keep the calf safe in her workplace campus.

We received a call that one calf was run over by a vehicle and the front leg was fractured exposing the bone. The calf was badly bleeding.

The sad fact is that butchers immediately circled the spot and tried to take her for slaughter.
However, Mr. Ramachandran stood strong and didn’t hand over the calf to the butchers and brought to our sanctuary.
Right now, her condition is critical and being treated.
Please keep her in your prayers.

They tried to give her treatment but the fate which happens to all cows was awaiting her. Everyone asked them to sell for slaughter.
But after coming to know about our sanctuary, they decided to hand over to us for further treatment and her.

The bone is exposed through the open fracture area. Our vet has started treating her on a daily basis. We are hoping that the calf makes a speedy recovery soon!

We received a call that one pony was struggling to walk in a malnourished state with multiple fractures in the legs.
She was found in a very dehydrated and painful condition.
We immediately rescued and brought her to our sanctuary for further care and treatment.

When it comes to horses or ponies with fractures, unfortunately people are quick enough to decide euthanasia.
We are sure that this pony will recover to the best of her ability with all the care and love soon!

Please keep her in prayers.

Day before yesterday (24/03/2024), While I was travelling in the highway, I noticed two container trucks with cattle dung oozing out of it.
I sensed that something was wrong and I immediately stopped the vehicle with the help of police at Chengalpattu Toll Plaza.

I was so shocked to find that 43 bulls and 2 buffalo calves were cramped in two trucks together.
Green chillies were rubbed on their eyes. They had many wounds.
The driver confessed that they were being taken from Nellore to Kerala for slaughter.

I filed a complaint at the Chengalpattu Taluk Police Station and the FIR was registered based on the same. The cattle were seized and sent to Gokula Krishna Goushala as we don’t have enough sheds to accommodate 45 cattle in our sanctuary right now, they were kind enough to agree to take care of them.
They are safe and under treatment now for the injuries they sustained.
Heartfelt thanks to Tmt. Shruti Vinodhraj, Member, Tamil Nadu Animal Welfare Board for ensuring that the animals go to a safer animal shelter for further care.

I would like to thank Tr. Sai Praneeth IPS, Superintendent of Police, Chengalpattu for taking immediate action against the perpetrators. My sincere thanks to Tr. Krishna Chaitanya, and Tr. Antony Rubin for helping in this operation to save 45 lives.

It appears that they kept the pigs tied to be killed for meat illegally.
We immediately lodged a complaint with the police and rescued them.
Our vet gave them treatment for their injuries.

2023 is coming to an end. It’s time to welcome 2024.
2023 has been a roller coaster with ups and downs.
A new year starts when the Earth makes a complete orbit around the Sun. Approximately 365 days. As I always say, each day taught me something new, and I was able to use the same learning to make myself a better human being with each passing day.

2023 has given me one pleasant surprise too, something I’ve never imagined in my life.
Apart from rescuing and taking care of the animals, 2023 gave me an opportunity to speak on behalf of the animals to help people realise their hidden compassion.
I have been able to reach lakhs of people through the social media platforms this year, and many people messaged me saying that they would change.
It is my firm belief that animals are not voiceless. They have a very beautiful voice; it’s just that we don’t understand the language they speak.
So I will continue my work as a translator and help the voice of the animals reach even more people!

I can’t believe that it has been more than 4 years since I started the sanctuary.
We were able to rescue 122 animals, ranging from cows, buffaloes, dogs, pigs, goats, hens, horse, and donkey throughout 2023.
Our sanctuary is a safe home for 280 animals as of today. On the other side, our resources are getting constrained, and my debt, the money I borrowed from various people to run the sanctuary, has also increased.
Despite all the difficulties, I strongly hope and believe that our sanctuary will always be in a position to help more animals, as I believe in destiny. If the sanctuary wasn’t destined to help the animals, I wouldn’t have started it in the first place.

2023 has given me one pleasant surprise too, something I've never imagined in my life.
Apart from rescuing and taking care of the animals, 2023 gave me an opportunity to speak on behalf of the animals to help people realise their hidden compassion.I have been able to reach lakhs of people through the social media platforms this year, and many people messaged me saying that they would change.

We also had to say goodbye to 42 animals in 2023; they passed away despite the treatment owing to their severe injuries, health conditions, and age.
One thing that consoles me is that we tried our best to save them till the end rather than considering euthanasia as an easy alternative.
I believe that animals never feel suicidal, unlike us. Not only my belief, but several studies have said the same too. I have seen animals with critical health conditions eat food; it’s a sign that they want to fight back and live.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our veterinarian, Dr. Sharmila, ma'am, for always trying her best to save the life of the animal.

Last but not least, I would like to thank all of the donors, friends, advocates, officers, and family for supporting me to help the animals and run the sanctuary. I cannot mention it in mere words.
I have faced threats, hate, and even attacks for standing against animal abuse, yet I have been able to move forward because of the support from such amazing individuals.
In a world where many people see animals as food and commodities, it is not easy for one person to make up their mind to donate their hard-earned money to the animals. In this regard, I can say that I am blessed to have met such wonderful humans in my life.

I wish you all a very happy new year.Let’s continue spreading the message of compassion and kindness until the day animals are liberated.

We received a call from Mr. Vinod that this male calf was run over by a vehicle on the highway. No one came forward to help the calf even after many hours.
So we rescued the calf and brought him to our sanctuary for further treatment and care.

The bone has been badly exposed in his hind leg, it seems to be warranting leg amputation but our doctor said that it might result in blood loss. So we are trying to help the wound heal and the last resort would be the amputation.

Please keep him in your prayers.

We received a call that one injured calf was lying on the side of the road in water.
We immediately went to the spot and rescued her. She had open fracture in her hind leg and it was fully infected.
