I am an Alumni of Animal Behavioral College where I have received my certification as a professional dog trainer who will be able to train both in group classes and one on one in home training. I specialize in larger pets, puppies, and some small breeds as well. I have worked with dogs my whole life and have had many of my own pets trained by myself. I believe that every dog is trainable as long a

s the owner works with them. I believe that all dogs deserve a chance to be the best they can be. My dog training methods are for all ages of dogs, but I know that the younger you start training a pet, the easier it is for them and for the whole family! I have different types of training plans and that means different prices. From just simple 1 behavior training to full packages including up to 5 problem behaviors, potty training, and basic obedience. Puppies 6 months and less cost less because they are known to pick it up faster, but adults are still very trainable! My current rate is $30/session maximum and there are reasons I will discount that, Each session lasts about an hour and can me either once or twice a week depending on your needs. This is my normal rate, however I have other types of training which may vary in price. I do multiple pet classes, but will separate pets based on their learning if needed. If there are 2 or more pets each pet needs an owner capable of handling them present during training. I do consultations: FREE
My consults include
- Seeing what help I can offer the dog
-Planning the easiest method for the family and pet to ensure success
-Advice on the dog's daily routine to help and stresses on pet or family.
- A meet and greet so you can find out whether you want to use my services as a trainer or not on your own. I am a positive reinforcement trainer, but promise to do all I can for your pet's success.

Healed now, but great learning moment! How many of you have heard a trainer saying take a dog back to kindergarten or basics? This can happen when they get out of practice on a trained command or behavior. Usually I run my pup around after and crate time, however I forgot that he had not had his time and due to my mistake and my not using the sit stay command he jumped on me while I was cutting open a box that had a dog toy in it. I ended up with stitches and the poor pup was so devastated to be crated while I was rushed to the hospital. He got to come back out so soon as we got home and sniff my hand. He knew he should not jump and I knew to use his training but we all make mistakes so he and I had started back to basics a little more often this month. This is a reminder just like when we don’t use skills we can lose them so can pets and trainers. None of us are perfect and it is ok to have to take a few steps back before moving forward. My hand is ok and luckily missed anything to scary to cut and it will scar, but that’s ok since it could have been my dog or someone else hurt instead. My Heeler is back to his routine training and playing and no incidents since. Remember training should not stop just like we maintain ourselves and our cars we should maintain our skills and our dogs’ skills too.

My 2 dogs at home Husky is 8 and the Heeler is 2. Both learn new tricks all the time!

A reminder as Halloween approaches, careful if candy around animals and remember animals can be spooked and act differently with all the festivities. Remember to keep your animals safe by using leashes, kennels, or setting up outside away from them so they don’t run out if needed. If they are out make sure they’re visible to all around with a light in them due to most animals being harder to see at night. Have fun, be safe and make memories!

It has been a while since I posted, but I feel the need to express some things when it comes to dogs and training. Positive training starts as early as possible (usually once weaned from mom). It isn’t all do this or do that, it is rewarding what you like and either ignoring or correcting (not punishing) what you don’t. The most important parts of having a dog is actually taking care of your pet, service animal, etc. Dogs need to be shown affection and care, the positives and not negative all the time. They need to bond and learn respect and not just with corrections but through love. A dog is most loyal to the owner they feel is most loyal to them even if it isn’t the one that spends all day home with them, it can be they trust the other person of people to return to them as promsied and are rewarding those people like we reward them when they do actions we want and avoid behaviors we don’t. Dogs are not perfect and all make a mistake at some point and will occasionally, that’s when it is time to remind them not to be brutal, those moments are teaching moments for a dog not an excuse to lock them out, lock them up, ignore or harm them. If your answer is shove them in a cage and hope they learn, well let me save you the trouble, that doesn’t work! Reach out to trainers, not every one Is wants to charge tons of money, most want to help you. Talk to rescues about options and listen. They’re animals and rely on us, we need to follow through if we can do so. Keep that in mind. Always know you can reach out!

It’s been a long time since I’ve written things here so I decided to this morning. As a dog trainer I find it extremely important to point out there is a difference between taking care of a pet’s needs and training a pet. I see a lot of posts on pages saying help my dog has this “problem behavior” like nipping, chewing, or hyper activity at bad times even though I walk this (insert long distance here). Yes, they need to burn energy and move around, but they also need to be taught your expectations and what their job is as a pet. If you move what limits change, if you have a new family member either human or furry, you have to establish what you expect from them for that too. Always feel free to ask what training may be best. Animals and children are different, but there are similarities. They have needs to be met and require to be taught and each one is unique.
