Zenpool’s mad as hell, and I’m guessing those screaming sisters—Kidpool, Ladypool, Nicepool, and Dancepool—aren’t exactly singing kumbaya either. And of course, there’s Deadpool, the mouthy little bastard, leading the charge with his big brother energy. Why so pissed, you ask? Well, their mama went on a killing spree and unalived their poor siblings, Headpool and Welshpool. Now these tiny terrors, barely 4 days old, are stuck with me for some tube-fed TLC until they can grow some balls, regenerate, and suck down a bottle like champs. Adopt Cardinal Clawpia!

Allow us to re-introduce you to Cardinal Clawpia! 😻 Cardinal is 11 months old now and has Swimmers Syndrome, which causes his hind legs to splay outward. He's a very functional and paw-some kitty: playful, active and mobile. He gets around very well, can navigate stairs without issue and can even scale baby gates! He will need a special and welcoming forever home, with patient and understanding humans, who are willing to continue to work with him, do physical therapy, and work on strength training using the assisted devices he does have now which is a wheelchair/hobble type set up. This device isn't for mobility, but for strengthening his hind limbs! 💪 Ever the rock star, Cardinal Clawpia would prefer to be a solo act (no cats, dogs, or small kiddos) - he can get a bit spicy at times with some cattitude, and will express what he does and doesn't love. His forever family will need to be patient, and able to read his cues for interaction! He does love to be carried around and petted, when he's in the mood, of course! Cardinal will need a few wide and low-sided litter boxes scattered around the house, to assist him in the potty department. Motley Zoo had a blast at Walk 'n' Wag!

We had a great time at the Walk 'n" Wag event put on by Friends of Lake Sammamish State Park! We got to meet all sorts of paw-some two legged and four legged friends! The event had over 160 dogs and 400 humans at Walk 'n' Wag this year. We look forward to doing this again next year, and meeting more fantastic animals and humans! We have an obedience rock star in our midst: Arrax! He's an 8-month-old husky mix dog who isn't getting the attention he deserves because of the sheer number of huskies seeking homes right now. It's overwhelming and sadly, many are being euthanized, even when they are healthy and adoptable! The animal welfare system is just entirely overwhelmed. Arrax is a lucky guy, however, as he landed in our care- and he was raised well-socialized and with basic obedience from day one- and it shows! His foster worked very hard on his skills, so he has a lot to show off! Check out Arrax's movie debut and be sure to request a meet and greet with this celebrity before everyone else does! Paw Paw Emeritus is piiiiiiiiiissed!!! 👿 How dare Mary on a Cross befoul his sleeping chambers with her putrid presence? How dare she try and cuddle with his stuffed Beelzebub?! Hell hath no fury like a tiny hellhound screaming in outrage for his sister to get out of his room. The howls are indeed terrifying and the stuff of nightmares echoing throughout the pits of hell. Oddly, enough this litter doesn’t bark. They’ve been quiet with the exception of PPE’s complaints. They may decide to get barky as they age and grow into their own but maybe not. Because PPE is significantly smaller than his siblings, he is kept in a small laundry basket within the enclosure. With supervision he has playtime with his siblings but he’s much too small to match their strength when they wrestle with each other. Why a laundry basket? So that he can still nosetouch and sleep with his siblings in a sense. Puppy Papa Emeritus is still with us. He’s soooooo close to finally hitting that elusive pound mark! 🐾 And we remain cautiously optimistic while his condition remains guarded. While he’s not yet eating on his own, relying on syringe feedings multiple times a day, and not able to hold up his head for long, he shows little milestones all the time. Standing. Walking. Playing. Vocalizing. And every day with him is a little victory. 🐶 If you don’t know Papa’s story, he was born to a terrified little mother in the shelter. She had 7 babies, which is a lot for one so little. And being in a shelter is hard on newborns. Being so terrified, she is basically shut down. Hiding in a corner with her face to the wall. Flinching when you touch her. We don’t know what she’s known in her life. But it wasn’t love and affection… which we will definitely change! Most mothers have a protective instinct that while terrified they will still fight for their babies. But not Lily. She loves her babies but is too scared to stand up for them. 😔 And so she leaves the raising to us. We continue to help her weak and sickly babies become strong. Mary on a Cross was regurgitating with every meal, dropping weight, struggling, and we worried. But now look at her. Checking in on little Papa. No longer on the bottle! We’re giving them a fighting chance. And they ARE getting stronger. Playing. Wrestling. Growing. Well, the 2023 concert season has started and we've already been super lucky to be at the White River Amphitheatre shows.... So far spending time with Nickelback, Josh Ross, Old Crow Medicine Show, Slightly Stoopid, Roam with Sublime and the DOGGFATHER himself, Snoop Dogg- who was kind enough to do an adoption shout-out for our Adoptable Roadies! This is 10 years of effort in action...since 2013 we've been bringing our adoptable animals backstage to meet the artists they are named after- to help promote rescue and adoption awareness. Motley Zoo is the OG of backstage meet and greets- we started this sh*it! We're so glad it's become a thing for many animal welfare organizations all over the country...but never forget we're the original rock-n-roll rescue! Tiny Ghost Trio puppy Mary on a Cross LOVES to eat!

🐾 Our new puppies are hungry and need your help! 🐾 The Ghost Trio came to us with their mother and 4 other siblings. 7 puppies is WAY too many for a small dog to handle. Sadly, this litter was born to a terrified mother in the shelter. One of our amazing fosters stepped up to help this scared girl and her puppies to a safe environment. Shelters are hard on puppies and sometimes they can get inadvertently exposed to things. Unfortunately, theses puppies are sick. Three of them are in very concerning condition and have been moved so the mother can concentrate on herself, and so she can have a more manageable number of puppies to handle. Papa Emeritus in critical condition. He is being tube fed and we need your positive energy, prayers, love, ju-ju (whatever works best for you!) for him. 🖤🙏 As you can see in the video, little Mary on a Cross is eating on her own, but she is quite congested, as is her sister, Nameless Ghoul.
