Happy World Blood Donor Day! 🩸

🎉 This , we’d like to take the opportunity to thank our growing community of donors, and their proud owners.

Over the past year, we’ve come to meet so many new dogs, as well as kept in touch with those we see regularly. It is always hugely rewarding to see so many people take time away from their busy lives to help save thousands of lives! A huge thank you to all of you 🥰

As always, this day is about all our lifesavers, and the dogs in need they have helped ❤

We’re looking for more dogs to join our pack and become lifesaving blood donors. If your dog is between 1 and 8, over 25kg, fit and healthy, and is confident and enjoys meeting new people, please consider registering them with us.

❗️ Heat stroke warning

With temperatures soaring, please be aware of the signs of heat stroke in dogs – thank you to our friends at Vets Now for this handy reminder. Our furry friends can really struggle in the heat, so it is vital we keep them cool in these extreme temperatures 🐕

🐶 Walk in the early morning or later in the evening when it is cooler
💧 Always provide plenty of water
😎 Access to cool and shady areas
❌ Never ever leave your dog in a parked car on a sunny day
☀️ Watch out for the signs of heat stroke and seek veterinary care immediately if you are concerned

If you are due to attend a donation session with us this week, please be mindful of travelling with your dog in the heat. Keep them in an air conditioned car where possible and provide plenty of water. We will continue to review the situation and will ensure we are only running donation sessions if it is safe to do so. As always, the welfare of your dog is our top priority.
