This page will feature cats we have rescued, are fostering and/or are available for adoption. We are just a couple who love cats and do what we can.

We have been feeding, helping and doing TNR for the street cats of Taipei for about 10 years now. For the last few years we have also been rescuing and fostering as many kittens as we can to get them ready for homes and save them from the streets. We currently have four rescue cats we call our own (Mouthy, Nami, Mindy and Quinn) and have a room dedicated to fostering and housing our rescues. We do

n't have a lot of room, or funds, but we do what we can, rescuing one or two who need our help and we do all we can to make them strong, healthy, sociable cats ready for homes. This page will feature the kittens currently in our care as they are prepared for new homes, as well as photos of our cats and street cats we help or need to try to rescue. Any help through sharing, liking and donating is always appreciated. Let's get these cats from Street to Sweet!!!

I put on a recommended YouTube video that is supposed to be calming for cats. I had no idea it would trigger Grandpa’s 16 year old hunting skills. I had to turn it off when he tried to jump up and crashed.

Shelter visit day. Sweet Tea is staying strong during Stage 4 kidney disease. The rest are still full of energy and ready to play. A few new faces and Domino is still grumpy as hell.

Our downstairs feeding area now has two residents… Daisy and Duke.

Daisy arrived last year when Domino was taken in for his arm surgery and has been the solo little girl in the territory until a few weeks ago. Duke arrived and Daisy hates him. Duke is super sweet and affectionate and reminds us a lot of the old residents, Booker and Stevie.

Right now they fight, but it’s more posturing and trying to show territorial dominance. Daisy never came that close to me until Duke showed up. Now that Duke rubs me and gets pet, she’s started rubbing me, probably to mark her territory on me as well. She’s lovely, just not trusting of touch.

Daisy was named after the villain of The Great Gatsby as she used to sit under a lone streetlight to watch me from across the outside area of our building waiting for food (like the green light of Gatsby). Duke just seemed to be a cool name to pair with Daisy which of course is a nod to the good ol’ Duke Boys.

Hopefully they learn to get along better. Duke is twice her size, so if he tries a major power play, he’ll win.

We’re thinking to change Grandpa’s name to Benjamin Button. I swear he’s de-aged every year since we rescued him. This toy has been played with by every kitten since I rescued Mouthy almost 16 years ago. Sunny days suddenly give Grandpa Benjamin superpowers and he plays until he passes out (usually about 8 minutes)

For the last while we've had crash pads / cushions around the sofa. Grandpa sits on the sofa, and sometimes, especially when the heater is on, he gets very close to the edge. Sometimes he loses his balance, sometimes he falls off the sofa. So to help him out, we put the cushions down there to keep him from hurting himself when he goes down. He also can't jump down due to the really bad arthritis in his front leg joints. So, coming down off the sofa, sometimes he doesn't use the steps because… well… he's a stubborn old du***ss. So, he needs those cushions on the bottom to help him to lighten the load when he hits down. The problem is we just bought new cushions and now Nami thinks that they're personal beds for her. Now when Grandpa's coming down he has to avoid Nami and sometimes he falls on her… which is actually been kind of funny to watch.

We have the same kind of cushions upstairs as well beside the bed for when he sleeps up there and decides not to use his pet steps, or rolls over in his sleep. But those have now become Zola's bed. So we've bought these cushions to protect Grandpa, but we’ve basically just make our cats lives much softer and much more comfortable.

January 1st, 2025 marks exactly 800 days since we rescued old grumpy pants from the street. We never expected him to still be living the life of luxury after this long. For a senior cat who lived outside more than a decade, has stage 2 kidney disease and is FIV+, Grandpa is one tough SOB.

It’s cold tonight so we’re sharing a bathrobe and watching some wrestling. He’s a CM Punk fan, too. It’s why we get along so well.

This is Happy and Sugar, twin brothers who live at the 貓瘋非營利慈善貓專科醫院 CrazyCat NPV shelter. They used to be very scared of new people, but now they get so excited to see us come to the shelter and live to play. They’ve been together since birth and absolutely love each other.

If you look at their necks in the photo, you can see they were shaved recently. This is because they match blood types with Sweet Tea who is still trying to stay strong in the final stage of kidney disease. Both have given blood to Sweet Tea this past month to keep their shelter brother strong. They are awesome, and deserve a home that will love them, and now, they are even more awesome.

Grandpa always gets the priority seating directly in front of the heater.neveryone else uses him as a heat source or a pillow. I think he enjoys having a pack that cares for him.

Sweet Tea slept for most of my visit today. He didn’t want to leave the warmth and safety of his blankets either. I did hold him for a short time and just pet him wherever he laid. He was purring like a motorboat, but he’s not well at all today. He won’t eat, has barely any energy to move and just looks worn out. How can a 3 year old cat be so old now?

We talked about how we hoped he could have come home with us, about what kind of big cat he will be soon and I played him some Van Morrison to calm him down and ease the inevitable.

Cats like Sweet Tea come around once in a blue moon. He’s one of the best ones.

Listen closely and you can hear his purring so strong. He seemed happy to see me. I just wonder if he knows what’s happening inside his body and how much he understands about his time left.

Sweet Tea is back at 貓瘋非營利慈善貓專科醫院 CrazyCat NPV after emergency care for his rapidly progressing kidney failure. After a transfusion and care,he’s back where he knows as home for final care and comfort. Only three years old and sadly was never adopted due to his health issues. He’s the sweetest, greatest cat ever. He deserved the world.

I’m going there tonight with snacks and love for him.

Donations are being asked for to cover his care and food.

Mr. Pumpkin’s new favorite snack to try and steal. He got his own bag for his 2-Year Anniversary. And before anyone has a fit, he lived in the street for years so he has an affinity for fried foods, which we rarely give him. But as a treat once in a while, he loves it. This is not his normal diet! 🍟 Grandpa

In 2006 I came to Taiwan to do something different, and little did I know after 13 years I’d be taking care of more cat’s than I could ever have imagined.

I have been feeding, helping and doing TNR for the street cats of Taipei since arriving in Taiwan and there is no turning back now. For the last while we have also been rescuing and fostering as many kittens as we can to get them ready for homes and save them from the streets. We currently have five rescue cats we call our own (Mouthy, Nami, Mindy, Quinn and Coco) and have a room dedicated to fostering and housing our rescues.

It was just me and the cats for the longest time, then a little over 6 years ago the most wonderful person came into my life. Mouthy, Nami and Luffy took to her right away and they taught her (a person who had never had a pet or been around pets) just what the love of an animal can do for you. The cats fell in love with her, I fell in love with her and now we are married and dedicating as much time as we can to our cats, the local street cats and the rescues we take in. We don't have a lot of room, or funds, but we do what we can, rescuing one or two who need our help and we do all we can to make them strong, healthy, sociable cats ready for homes. This page will feature updated stories of cats we have rescued and are currently caring for, any kittens currently in our care as they are prepared for new homes, as well as photos of our cats and street cats we help or need to try to rescue.
