As I Check the weather I see we are in a heat advisory starting at 1pm. We are going to keep things moving as quick as possible. Pack some extra gatorades or water! We have a hydrant to fill your horses water buckets.

Good morning!! Who’s ready for a Sunday funday of barrel racing?! If you can find a safe route to the arena, it is going to be a beautiful day here! If you can not make it and you are pre entered. No worries! But give me a heads up so I can give your draw number to an on site entry 😊🏇🏼 if you pre entered and do not see your name on the pre draw… message or comment. Not sure what happened but that’s the case for a few! I will get you into a good draw number. If your planning on entering on site! We will see you here at the office.

Pre entry has posted. I used the rodeo results app to randomize the draw. I realize some of you on here can not make it. I understand! But so far I only had one official call out. So I followed through with still planning this event. Any and all on-site entries are accepted! I realize there could be more road closures tomorrow. Be safe! And don’t worry If your running behind. Best way to contact me is by text 712-363-4508. We will let you run! The arena is in BEAUTIFUL shape! And if you can’t make it don’t feel left out. There will be more runs here. If our county Buena Vista declares no travel by morning we will rethink our decision!

Rita Cockburn Burkhardt will be here Sunday with a concession stand full of goodies! She will be set up in the grain bin gazebo East of the office shack. Taverns, hot dogs, Chili dogs, potato chips, home made bars cookies and cinnamon rolls are on her planned menu! Thank you Rita! Nothing beats a good home made concession stand menu!

🏇🏼🏇🏼”It will buff out!” 🏇🏼🏇🏼 I say as I check out the arena after another round of rain! Still think we can make this work Sunday. Some standing water but I’m going to let it seep through the tile system for a few hours and then drag it. Replay of Monday! And it worked in my favor that day! Our parking is white rock. You might find a little mud but not enough to get stuck or sink. Still taking pre entries!! No flooded roads here. YET.

So far the arena is holding its own against the rain! We have been able to drag most the water out each time it rains. More rain to come. Hoping to hold the trend of getting it to dry up each day. Parking is mostly white rock here. Head on over to rodeo results and get entered!

A day early! I have opened the entry link on rodeo results! The draw will be randomized and posted next Saturday! The time in which you enter will not change the chances of your draw number as it will be randomized when entries close. If you need special accommodations due to scheduling conflicts, please reach out! I will do my best to make this work for you. This class is for the newbies , the just got a new horse and not with it yet, the I don’t know if I’m really ready to enter the open class or the young horses first year out. If you enter this class your not eligible for the open or youth BUT you can enter the roll the dice side pot! More affordable entry fee to try it all out. This will pay the top 3 runs and winners will also receive a mule tape halter made by Smith Performance Horses, LLC

I have had some questions regarding entry fees. On the flyer I have posted fees with an office fee included. This is for horse/rider combo. So if your entering both youth and open on the same horse, you will pay one office fee, not two. If your entering 2-3 horses in one division , you will still pay the office fee per entry. No office fee for Peewees This will allow me to offer a larger percentage of pay out and prizes! Pre entries open in less than 24 hours and will stay open until the end of the week. Pre Entries open Sunday!! I highly recommend down loading the rodeo results app! This is how you can pre enter! I was able to use the rodeo results app as a contestant last night. It was awesome! I could watch the draw and see exactly when to get ready. It sent me a notification of what my time was after my run! And I could follow along with how I was going to place. This saved me alot of time so I did not have to stick around for the payout! A few things to share. If your horse is grade you’ll need to either give it a last name for ex Skye (Dowdy). Or you can get creative. This will be your horses name from now on according to the rodeo results app. So you will use it everytime. This app keeps track of your money won and placings on that horse when entered in a race that’s using this software. If you are unable to use this app (free on your end by the way!) please reach out and I will get your entry in!
