Time certainly flies! They are 6 weeks old today, and ready to explore the world! If it were warmer, I would take them out in the backyard where they could see chickens and cats, but for now we are settling for frequent, but short breaks outside.

Fresh snow overnight, and the puppies took it all in stride. We were out for just under 5 minutes, and they left all their messes in the snow! Yay!

The puppies first excursion outside! We'll keep our outside trips short because of the cold, but wanted to get them outside before the snow comes tonight. They love the room to run and are fascinated by the ice. They didn't want come back in the house, and had to be enticed with food 🤣

At five weeks old, the puppies are quite active and looking for attention! Some have names, others don't just yet. These little munchkins are meeting our adult dogs now for short, supervised visits. They're eating 3 meals a day and are able to eat kibble that is only slightly softened. They have the hang of the water bowl, and are getting better with the litter box every day. It's hard to believe that they will be having their first vet visit in 2 weeks for shots and health checks.
DNA results came in, and King Louie is the sire of all of these gorgeous pups!

oh my gosh, 4 weeks already! These little golden nuggets are on the move and just so sweet! Most are reserved, but not all have been chosen yet. Families are beginning to come to make their choices, while others are waiting for DNA results. Looks like one girl will still be available, but I can't say which one yet.
This week they have learned to drink water from the WaterBoy, and are beginning to learn about the litter box.
This sure is a photogenic bunch!

The puppies will be four weeks old tomorrow! I just wanted to get a quick video of them playing, but once you turn on the camera, seven minutes goes by very quickly! 🤣🤣🤣 I put the litter box in this morning. Are use self alpha pellets with a plastic cover over so they can't eat them. Like human babies everything goes in their mouth. Alfalfa smells like grass, so they can learn to associate the grass, which helps when you're teaching them to go outside. Of course, all of our grass is covered with snow now, but it will thaw eventually!

The puppies are being fed for the first time today! If you don't like slurping sounds, you might want to turn down your volume! 🤣🤣🤣

The puppies are 3 weeks old today! Their eyes are fully open now and they see a little better each day. This week we will introduce puppy mush, so watch for a video of their first feeding. Very much like human babies, they tend to wear more of their food than eat it at the beginning.
We are working hard to keep them nice and warm with no drafts in these extreme temperatures. Stay warm, everybody!

Do you wake up so hungry you could scream? Me neither! These puppies sure do! Momma Revvie is fed in the same room, but out of sight, but they can sense her. If I took my video after they eat, they would just be sleeping. 🤣
If you watch carefully you can see the beginning stages of play. So fun to watch them grow and develop!

They have discovered their voices! They knew their mama was nearby (eating a snack outside of the box). Listen to those barks, howls and whines!

The puppies are 2 weeks old today! Their eyes are opening and their ears are no longer sealed, so they hear us when we come in the room now. They will be finished with their early neurological stimulation on Thursday, and then they will just be handled a lot. Now that their eyes are opening, they are beginning to walk around the whelping box with their bellies off the ground, where before they would do an army crawl. I will get some videos out this week, so you can see them in action!

How has one whole week gone by already?! By this time next week, you will notice their eyes are beginning to open, starting in the inner corners. Revvie still doesn't like to leave them very often, because she knows how vulnerable they are.
Orange and Gray tied for first place in doubling their weight!

Day 4 pictures! The puppies are growing and becoming more plump. The race is on to see who will double their weight first, and they're all getting close! Today is day 4 of their early neurological stimulation, and this will continue until they're 16 days old.

Revvie's puppies obviously wanted to celebrate New Year's Eve, and were born in the wee hours of the morning today! She has 6 girls and 3 boys, all looking like dark golden angels. She is a dedicated momma, in love with every one of them!
