🌱🚫 W**d killers can pose a risk to your furry friends, so pet owners need to be cautious!

🐾 While most w**d killers are safe when used properly, ingestion of an extreme quantity of certain products can cause myotonia, vomiting, and weakness in dogs. Roundup® is not particularly dangerous, but undiluted product should be kept away from pets. If you notice any symptoms, contact your veterinarian immediately.

👀 Use w**d killers responsibly to keep your pets safe and healthy!👌

Is your dog getting enough physical exercise? Just like people, dogs need plenty of exercise to stay healthy and happy. If your dog is barking excessively, it may be a sign that they need more physical activity. Try increasing your daily walks or hikes, or take up jogging or biking with your furry friend. A tired dog is a contented dog, and a contented dog is less likely to bark.

🦠 Did you know that many heartworms are infected with a bacteria called Wolbachia, which further contributes to the inflammatory response in dogs?

😢 When heartworms die, body pieces can lodge in the vasculature, obstructing blood flow to the lungs and causing scarring in the vessels supplying lung tissue.

Over time, this can lead to heart failure. Most dogs don't exhibit symptoms in the initial stages, but as the condition worsens, they may experience coughing, panting, exercise intolerance, and weight loss. 🐶

Providing year-round heartworm prevention is an important part of your pet’s health care plan. If you would like to discuss the various preventives, contact our team by calling (877) 203-5973, so we can determine what protocol would best fit you and your pet’s lifestyle.

Try approaching with your body angled away first or dropping your shoulder when calling them. Avoid reaching out and let them come to you when they're ready. These calming signals will help your furry friend feel safe and understood!

Dogs communicate primarily through body language and facial expressions. When interpreting their non-verbal messages, it's essential to observe the entire dog, not just one isolated part. Consider the context, including the environment and recent events, to fully understand your dog's body language.

❤️ We love our feline friends, and want to keep them healthy and happy. Although cats are atypical hosts for heartworms, the consequences of infection can be severe. Heartworm-associated respiratory disease (HARD) can cause coughing, increased respiratory effort, and vomiting that resemble feline asthma.

Additionally, heartworms can cause blood clots, leading to sudden paralysis of one or both hindlimbs. Stay vigilant and protect your cat's health by taking preventative measures!

Providing year-round heartworm prevention is an important part of your pet’s health care plan. If you would like to discuss the various preventives, contact our team by calling (877) 203-5973, so we can determine what protocol would best fit you and your pet’s lifestyle.

🛢️🚫 Garage storage can be DANGEROUS for your furry friends!

🐶🐱 Strong chemicals and substances like paints, glues, and antifreeze can be toxic if ingested. But antifreeze is particularly hazardous, as its sweet scent can attract pets, leading to kidney failure or death even with a small amount ingested.
