Murdoch went to his first ever Dog Show today!
Not only that, he got to meet Mel's Marvellous Cakes in between rounds we stopped by for a lovely cup of coffee and of course, we had to say hello to their gorgeous Lab, Astrid 💛
Despite not winning anything (I know, we couldn't believe it either) we still had a wonderful time 🤗

That's a wrap!
Another production of Legally Blonde is over and the post-show blues are already setting in.
This was the first time I've had alternate dogs for a show and it was an interesting situation to be in. Having two dogs who are already professionals when it comes to playing Bruiser & Rufus and two who are brand new to the roles.
I tend to get stuck in my comfort zone so the days we had Stanley and Daisy were a little more stressful but I am so glad we committed to having them as they gave me the chance to see that I can offer a wider range of actors to future productions. Despite not being the Bulldog we saw in the movie, Daisy still gave off the Rufus energy when on stage and I don't think anyone thought twice about who she was meant to be playing. And although we were sure Stanley wouldn't walk on for his first scene, he proved us all wrong and did it on both live shows!
Now it's time for them all to have a well deserved rest.
I, however, won't be able to as I'm off to start another packed show week with WAOS Musical Theatre!

The boys are back in town!

Casper & Arthur are back at the Hampton Hill Theatre tonight for another sold out performance of Legally Blonde!

We were SO impressed with Stanley & Daisy yesterday and they have earned their night off.
Stanley & Daisy will be back tomorrow for the final performance in the evening.

Strutting her stuff on stage for the second time in a year is our one and only, Daisy!
After her successful run in Oliver last year, she has been welcomed into the Legally Blonde family to play Rufus.

So, who is Daisy?
"Daisy is a 19 month old English Bull Terrier. She loves to sleep and usually rises about 11am each day. When she’s not sleeping she loves a big fuss and to be the centre of attention and has all her family thoroughly entertained with her quirky ways. She lives with 3 elderly chihuahuas and is like a big clumsy giant but very gentle.
She spends most of her weekends up the family farm flirting with the horses and getting absolutely covered in mud! She's stubborn but sweet with the biggest smile around."

We are doing things a little differently for this production. This is something we haven't been able to offer before but what we are SO lucky to be able to do this time...

We are welcoming back Legally Blonde experts, Casper and Arthur as 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 ✨

Casper (Bruiser)
A seasoned pro, Casper has played the role of Bruiser twice before. A phenomenal example of how rescue dogs should never be overlooked, Casper was rescued from Battersea Dogs Home at only 11 months old after being surrendered by his owner for not being your typical "hand bag dog". Casper went on to train with The Kennel Club "Good Citizen Dog Scheme" to Gold Plus level and ultimately became the embodiment of the world's most famous "hand bag dog". After stepping out of the spotlight last year, we are honoured to have Casper back as Stanley's understudy.

Arthur (Rufus)
Another Legally Blonde veteran, Rufus has been brought to life twice before by loveable rogue, Arthur. He is a typical bulldog; a bull in a china shop with a horrendous stubborn streak. Arthur has no understanding of personal space and needs to be touching at all times. Winner of "most improved actor" during his first production of Legally Blonde, he's gotten better and better ever since, winning over the hearts of audiences, casts and crew along the way.

It's our 3rd time heading back to Harvard and this time, we have a new Bruiser strutting his stuff!
Joining TOPS Musical Theatre Company for his debut as Bruiser is Chihuahua/Dachshund cross, Stanley ✨

So, who is Stanley?
"Stanley joined our family just over a year ago. He had no brothers or sisters and was rejected by his mum so it was really nice bringing him home to give him lots of love that he deserved.
Just like Bruiser, he can be very sassy and he loves the sound of his own voice!
Once Stanley gets to know you, he is very caring and affectionate."

Requirements:

• Resides in or near Surrey
• Happy to wear clothes.
• MUST be happy to be carried
• Comfortable around loud noises
• Good with large groups of people
• Does not suffer from separation anxiety

Training Requirements:
• Sit & Wait (for photos)

💛 Dogs In Yellow Day 💛

Today we celebrate - but what does that mean?

When a dog wears yellow, it is often a sign that the dog may need some space or may have specific needs that others should be aware of.
This can be particularly helpful for dogs that may be anxious or in need of extra space from other dogs or people.

Yellow is commonly used as a color code in the dog community to indicate that the dog should be approached with caution or given space.
It serves as a visual cue to communicate important information about the dog's temperament or needs without the need for verbal communication.
If you see a dog wearing yellow, it's important to respect the message it conveys and give the dog the space it requires.

This system of color-coding can help prevent misunderstandings and potential conflicts, ensuring a safer and more comfortable environment for both the dog and those around it.
Ultimately, it's a way to promote understanding and empathy towards our furry friends and their unique needs.

Luna wears her yellow harness when around new environments and dogs as she is very shy and doesn't like people touching her without permission. Even though the public should never touch a dog without their owners permission, this isn't always the case and as a result, Luna will get vocal and try to hide.
I put the yellow harness on to encourage people not to invade her personal space.
