This sweet senior has a serious love for fetch—he’d play for hours if you let him! You can often find him with a toy in his mouth and a wagging tail.
Earl is just one of 13 senior dogs we’re proud to care for, providing them with the love, comfort, and joy they deserve in their golden years.🐾🎾 We’re committed to giving these senior pups the best care possible, from nutritious food to quality veterinary care, ensuring their final days or years are filled with happiness.

A very special thank you to Voices for Lancaster’s Animals (SC) who are a volunteer networking group for the shelter in charge of running the social media pages, assisting in rescue coordinating/communications, etc. And a thank you to our incredible foster for taking such good care of Badger until he is able to join us.

When Marissa wants attention…Marissa GETS attention! 🧡 13 year old Marissa joined us at Finally Home in January of 2020. You may notice she is in a crate…so how come? Marissa spent her entire life in a shelter. We have found her crate is her safe place- which brings her a sense of security. It remains open for her to come and go as she pleases!
Marissa has made HUGE improvements with her anxiety since she joined us. Initially, you’d find her in her crate most of the time, but now can be found throughout the house with the rest of the dogs and people! She LOVES getting pets and attention…as you can see 🥰 She is at ease now and only has issues outside sometimes, or when she hears a loud noise. Marissa is a beautiful, happy girl, and we are thrilled to have her here!

Our dogs have been loving this beautiful weather! ☀️ Luke was even able to join us for some relaxation in the sun. He is now able to walk on his own though needs some assistance at times. He will be going back to the vet this upcoming week.

An update on Luke: thankfully, he is eating, drinking, taking his meds, and is able sit up on his own, though walking is still too big of a challenge. We hope that he continues to get his strength back. 🧡 Here is a sweet video of Laurie Dorr, Founder and Director, and Luke from the day he was brought home for the vet. Watch the end of the video to see an updated photo of him, sitting up!
