WARNING!!! 🚫RAWHIDE CHEW HOLIDAY GIFTS🚫 are unplanned ER vet visits just waiting to happen! They are DEADLY for dogs but stores sell them because some people aren't aware of how dangerous rawhide is for their furry loved ones! Rawhide are harmful from processing with irritating chemicals, the small choking hazard pieces, the swallowed piece sits in the stomach and irritates your dogs stomach for months or forms a COMPLETE BLOCKAGE from a big piece or several smaller pieces clumping together in the dogs intestines.

Buying a $5 candy cane rawhide filled stocking can lead to a serious life saving SURGERY that can cost about $2,000 to $5,000 or more for canine intestinal blockage or foreign body surgery to treat an obstruction.

Here are the most common rawhide risks:

Contamination. As with pet toys, rawhide chews can contain trace amounts of TOXIC chemicals. Salmonella or E. coli contamination is also possible. Even humans can be at risk when coming into contact with these bacteria on rawhide treats.

Digestive irritation. Some dogs are allergic to rawhide or other substances used in their manufacture processes. This can cause problems, including diarrhea, vomiting even death.

Choking or blockages. Rawhide bones and other edible chews can pose a choking and blockage risk. In fact, this is a much bigger risk than contamination or digestive irritation. If your dog swallows large pieces of rawhide, the rawhide can get stuck in the esophagus or other parts of the digestive tract. Depending on its size and where it is located, a local vet may be able to remove these pieces fairly easily through the throat. But sometimes, abdominal surgery is needed to remove them from the stomach or intestines. If it isn’t resolved, a blockage can lead to DEATH!

Please save your dog some pain and yourself hours waiting at the Veterinary ER, thousands of dollars OR even the loss of your beloved pooch ❤️ Don't buy rawhide! 🚫

Generally, at temperatures above 85° Fahrenheit, most dogs are at risk of HEAT STROKE and you should avoid walking your dog when it's hotter than 80°. Also be very aware of hot pavement, so your pup does not burn his/her precious paw pads.

Unfortunately it's foxtail season again 😞 Foxtail plants are a weed-type grass that can cause serious problems for animals!
Ear infections, nosebleeds/rhinitis, pyothorax, abscesses and tetanus are just SOME of the serious issues that can come from these little guys! If you notice your pet repeatedly sneezing, pawing at their ears, coughing or acting uncomfortable, these could be signs of a possible foxtail and should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
