Need something for your kids to do in the summer besides sitting in front of the TV??? Come to BHS HORSE CAMP (Worcester Location). Space is limited and we already CC have a bunch of people sign up so don’t wait too long to secure a spot!

The boys and I have had a fantastic first two weeks in Ocala as well! Both Theo and Spider laid down some of their best rounds this week! Theo earned multiple 2nd place ribbons and pinned in every class in the 3’9” Green Hunters and $20,000 WEC 3’9” Hunter Derby. Spider laid down some amazing rounds and also had his best 1.20 round to date bringing home some very colorful ribbons along the way! Ziggy popped around his courses and put in a fantastic 1.10 round. He never fails to impress and always likes to add his own “pizazz” to every course! I am looking forward to the rest of our time here and don’t want to go back to the cold ✨

The Black Horse Stables riders have had an AMAZING first two weeks down here in Ocala. Each rider has ribboned at the prestigious World Equestrian Center with impressive class numbers. Each year we have riders that try new things and this year these riders took each new challenge in stride! I couldn’t be prouder of this team and can’t wait for next week.

HITS CULPEPER was so SUCCESSFUL this year it has taken me a few days to get a recap done! Big congrats to Reese McIlhenny who was the Reserve champion on the .65 jumpers AND Champion of the .80’s! Shelley Doyle tried to give Reese a run for her money by placing 2nd earlier in the week in the .65’s! Emma Shipley then tied with Grace Martinelli for Reserve champion in the .90’s and then Grace wrapped up the week by WINNING the .80’s Classic! Dominique Tirendi then brought home the .90’s Championship onboard Erica’s Horse, Entheos! Cascaletto HZ finished the week as Champion of the Open 1.10 Division and Steel Rail Blues had some pretty impressive rounds and ribbons in BOTH the 1.15 and the 1.20 classes!

Tess Zabele and Jordyn Alt were our “switch-hitters” by earning some impressive ribbons in BOTH the hunters AND jumpers! Not many horses and riders are able to do both disciplines at the same show but these 2 made it look easy!

Moving onto our “Hunter Only” riders was Lauren Kamerer who was the Low Adult Eq Champion and Emma Bovee who pulled great ribbons and finished the week with a 6th place ribbon on the M&S Bit o Straw Classic! Sarah Elizabeth and her horse, Grace, were the newbies (besides Lola-dog) this year but you would never know it based on the rounds and ribbons that she produced and brought home! Fhrontier finished up our 13 horse crew by pinning in every class and also took home a 2nd place in the hack!

Great job everyone! All your hard work paid off!

Wow, the rain held off for an UNBELIEVABLE Horse Show! We had huge classes and still finished in record time! Thanks to each and every one of you for coming out to play in our Black Horse Stables Sandbox! It was so nice to see so many familiar faces and we hope to see you next month on July 30th!

Special Thank You to everyone who helped make the show such a success… I had multiple students and parents painting jumps, cleaning, organizing, and even helping with paperwork til 2am last night… I honestly couldn’t have done it without you ❤️!

ADVICE NEEDED…. Weather looks pretty bad for this weekend. “IF” I could get the AHS Horse Show @ Black Horse Stables (Furlong Location) switched to next weekend would people want that as opposed to showing in the rain…. But next weekend is 4th of July weekend. Would a Sat Show be easier or Sunday??? Please comment and let me know your thoughts!

Side note: I have a great drainage system in my outdoor so even if it rains for the next 3 days, my footing will be perfect

BHS (Furlong Location) Indoor Ring Update: We now have a beautiful new kickwall and we expanded our indoor ring to the max and gained another 1,100ft of rideable space! Just a few more finishing touches to go!

I cannot believe WEC Ocala 2023 is already over 😩. This year was the most successful show trip Black Horse Stables has ever had! All the riders and horses pushed their limits and challenged themselves, which allowed them to overcome HUGE class sizes (some had over a 100 riders in them) and fierce competition! Everyone rode their hearts out and we came home with the ribbons, division champions, and prizes to prove it! Great Job Everyone… is it too early to start the countdown for WEC 2024???

ISO: A Riding Instructor to teach beginners for a growing and busy lesson program. Needs to have experience and wiling to teach the fundamentals and basics of riding a horse; starting with grooming and tacking up. Job is located at my Worcester (Montgomery County) Location. Great Show for at the 2022 Devon Fall Classic! Erica killed it and placed in every class and even received a 2nd place ribbon on the second day… just missing the blue by less then a second! She also took home a 5th place in the $1,500 Low Adult Jumper Classic!

Lately I have been getting sent more full training board horses each month. Here is one youngster that I took on only 2 weeks ago that had MAJOR behavioral/aggressive issues and personal space issues. Under saddle he was completely inverted and had no idea how to properly use his hind end. This is just a sneak peek of the progression he has already made from the first ride to todays ride…..
