Due to the heat making it impossible to ship birds, I will be offering transport to NC, TN, or GA next week within a 4 hour radius(8 hour round trip)
I am only offering this to get the birds posted moved. If you are interested in any of these, please reach out. Tuesday and Thursday are possible days.
They available birds include a buff c**kerel, 3 buff girls, 1 buff PQ girl, a buff showgirl pullet, some Breda fowlXla Fleche cross, and salmon favorolle c**kerels.
Transport cost will be calculated on time/gas. Luckily I have a very gas efficient vehicle.

A reminder to everyone of my faithful followers.
I will resume shipping adults once temps are below 85 and both ends.
I am still offering chicks in certain breeds and silkies if they are still small enough for chick boxes but off heat.
Otherwise I will be bringing presold birds to shows this fall.

It’s been a while since I did an introduction and as soon as many people came and go in this fancy I am writing another.

I am formally known as Ellen McCrary(formerly lowery-Laylock) but I go as Ellie in social settings.
I am 25, married, bonus mom to a teenage boy and mama to a 11 month old girl.
I am a big sister to many awesome kids, most of which share my passion for animals.
I grew up in a horse family, and was riding throughout my childhood. At age 12 I decided I wanted to start dog sports and earned money to buy my own dog. So, I bought my dog and then started the 10 years of dog shows. Agility, rally, and trick dog were my focus.
At 13 we got our first family chickens and from there out I dove into deep research on poultry, and it wasn’t long before I got my first group of black silkies from Monique Sabo in Florida.
I spent each weekend doing different animal activities, sometimes at the same arena for 3 weekends in a row for horses, dogs, and chickens. My preference for horses has been in Warmbloods but I did really enjoy my Paint mare as well. I love pattern work and small jumps.
I did 4h and really enjoyed that project until 16 when I decided to focus on APA/ABA sanctioned shows.
I recently became interested in jumping spiders so I have 2 on my bedroom.

Now my last agility dog is retired, I am horseless, but I still have 100+/- birds. I work now as a beginner riding instructor and take on a few therapeutic sessions as well. I volunteer with 4h and help run a general and horse 4h group in my area.

In the next few years I see myself possibly adding an another dog, maybe a horse, and moving to more land so we can have a homestead instead of mini farm.
Goals for my current breeds are below.
Receive best Featherleg with a Black silkie
Receive best Featherleg with a Buff Silkie
Help 3 new breeders with Breda per year

I also have bantam Khaki polish, Modern Game Bantam, and Salmom Favorolle Bantam but I am still learning on them and not sure my goals yet.

I got an email last weekend from the State vet saying no birds to leave SC until this weekend at the very least.
I will still have some birds for local pickup I’ll be posting if the rain ever stops long enough for pictures.
I have buff showgirl c**kerels for immediate pickup, but haven’t gotten to go through the rest yet.

Reminder of how I deal with bird sales-
5 day hold is maximum. I am selling for space more than likely.
I will not meet you more than 15 minutes from my home unless I am already going through an area near you or it is a mutual agreement for a transaction. I have an infant, a small farm, and a job.
Payment must be made before I ship any bird.
No farm visits. Biosecurity and safety of my family comes before your desire to see parent birds or hand pick chicks. That is why I have a camera and photo albums of each breed and color.
I go down messages in the order they are received, but if you aren’t responsive and the next person is ready to pay, they get the bird.
Live birds ship Mondays and Tuesdays, eggs mail out Monday-Friday.
PayPal, Venmo, or cash are accepted. Friends and family only as I am a hobby breeder, not a hatchery or business. If I was able to write off costs then I would be willing to pay taxes, but I am selling extras birds and eggs to buy supplies.

How many of you go to the store, fill a buggy, get the cashier to ring you up, start to pay, and then walk away?
You would only do that if the items didn’t ring up right, or the cashier was extremely rude, right?
No one fills a buggy knowing they have no money and goes to checkout.
Please do not do that to breeders anymore. To anyone. It’s okay to have a budget but don’t leave a conversation without finishing it. If you forget your wallet you tell the store cashier instead of walking away, right?
You know when you message me about the price of a bird that it requires an exchange. I’m sure most of you aren’t absolutely penniless or you wouldn’t even be trying to buy chickens. I know through price comparison my prices do not even touch that of what some other people are charging for the same of lesser quality birds. Just tell me “that’s outside my budget, but thank you” so I can go to the next person. I am so understanding about that. I have been unable to purchase birds outside my budget before. I have absolutely no reason to judge you for being financially responsible and honest with me.
I had so many messages regarding birds today. Down to exact shipping quotes, prices, etc. I feel very disrespected when that happens because I can’t just sit by my phone, ready to jump up and mail a bird at any time. It it doesn’t happen to just me. It happens to many breeders. And we get annoyed.
