The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League, (RAWL) is a rescue based in Rappahannock County, Virginia. RAWL is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation.
RAWL is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation that manages the daily operations of the Rappahannock County animal shelter. Partial funding is provided by Rappahannock County, but the majority comes from people like you who love animals! We provide an energetic adoption program that finds loving homes for the dogs in our care. We seek to rehabilitate and adopt every dog. We also have regular rabies clin

Happy to report the Aussie from the Amissville area has been caught. His finder will adopt him if not reclaimed.
So for official reasons...stray Australian Shepherd intact male. No collar or chip. Found on Dodson Rd. Amissville.

New Girl Jesse has settled in well. Super nice girl who sits, downs, heels and gives paw. She is also very proud of all her toys and likes to show them to you. Jesse is 5 plus years. Possibly a Boxer mix. She has an adorable underbite. Been there done that drama free dog.

Through a series of efforts including class bake sales, the WCDS Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and fifth grade classes raised $361 for the Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL). 🐕
Fifth grade teacher Ms. Flanagan volunteers at RAWL in her free time and has made this her class's annual "pet" project! Students had the opportunity to visit RAWL and present their giant check.
"Miller" the pirate dog was there and gladly accepted their donation!

Holly Flowers just finished putting the finishing touches on this fabulous basket, which will be the door prize this Saturday at
RAWL's fundraiser at Magnolia Vineyards & Winery.
Chock full of special items donated by our neighbors at The Marketplace Sperryville Virginia, the lucky winner will be drawn at the end of the day on Saturday. Just stop by the RAWL table to receive your free ticket.

Dogs come to RAWL in many ways: as strays, owner-surrender, saved from neglect, transferred from a kill shelter, or even rescued from a natural disaster in another state. The gifts you give RAWL enable us to be prepared and ready to help.
One of our favorite things we do for our community is to reunite lost dogs with their families. When they end up staying with us, RAWL provides a clean and comfortable shelter, life-saving veterinary services and medicine, daily individual attention and playtime, loving care, rehabilitation, and training needed to be adopted by their forever family. We've helped dogs from unfortunate situations transform from frightened, abused, neglected, and chained outside into happy, healthy, loving pets.
Thanks to your support, we continue delivering the exceptional level of service you count on from RAWL. Our job in the county is unique. Our important rescue work is a labor of love, and we're proud to serve our community while helping animals in need.
You are the reason we are able to continue rescuing dogs in need. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and love of the RAWL dogs. 🐾❤️💙
