Many of you have been concerned about Hercules, our 13yo #canineoutreach pup who is 3 legged and lives on a tether 🙁. After much begging/whining/negotiating, Herc is spending the night with me and we will go to the vet in the morning to see just how near the end is for this guy . At this point I do not know if Hercules will have to go back to his owner as I didn’t even get that far. I’m just relieved to finally have permission to get Hercules checked out as he has a massive lump on his neck and seems to be deteriorating in general. So send prayers, well wishes and good vibes that Hercules will be able to truly enjoy however many days he has left. More to follow…
Rambo don’t want no stinking toy…Rambo want more treats!
Our #canineoutreach pups know we have lots of treats and they will work hard to get far more than they should. Rambo eventually took a toy but only after he exhausted every coercion tactic he had to get more cookies. Thanks as always to all of you who donate, volunteer and share so we can continue improving the quality of life for yard dogs in our area.
Outreach ain’t for sissies! This guy nearly yanked me off my feet a few times (he likes to help me with upper body strength and balance work 😆). A few days later another dog slammed me in the face with her skull while she was jumping around as I was stuffing straw in her house 😣. There are also countless bruises and scratches from these #canineoutreach pups. It may be physically demanding work at times but it’s work worth doing for sure! Thank you to all of our donors, volunteers and followers for keeping us going.
Thanks to a donor we have lots of toys for our #canineoutreach pups. Usually I hold the box open but Coby knocked it down so he could get a better look at ALL the options 😆
Safe space for roaming pup
So excited to have help today so we could construct a kennel for a pup who had been roaming the neighborhood. This is just phase one so there will be more upgrades in the coming months. For now though, he has a safe zone for when the owners can’t supervise his free play to keep him in their own yard. Thanks to Jody for volunteering and to everyone who donates so we can keep doing #canineoutreach!
Outreach dog eager to help
Gotta love how excited our outreach dogs get when we visit. Cha Cha here was doing zoomies, rapid butt wiggles and also being ever so helpful 😂. #canineoutreach
Last #canineoutreach visit done this morning before the snow started accumulating (about 3” and still coming down). Our outside dogs are set up as well as possible and several have caring owners who have brought them inside today. We also got shavings or straw to 20+ dogs that aren’t in our program just to help thru this cold spell. I’m ready for weather than has us worried about keeping the dogs cool again! Thank you to our donors who make this all possible.
