🔴Please help us make 2025 a reality for over 2,500 deserving, wonderful, homeless pups!🔴

While this initiative is a blast and so, so incredibly heartwarming, the reality is that there is a MUCH bigger picture. Yes, on a holiday where families come together and enjoy love and company and food, shelters are packed with homeless animals. Yes, 2,500 homeless pups get a delicious Thanksgiving dinner stuffed and frozen KONG to enjoy and help pass some of the time in their kennels.

BUT! What we don’t talk about is that each shelter receives enough KONGs for their capacity - meaning they can use these KONGs for an entire year (or more!) to ensure the homeless dogs in their care receive consistent enrichment.

We don’t talk about the sigh of relief that our amazing shelter heroes feel knowing that the dogs they love so dearly had a good day.

It’s more than a feel good initiative - it is truly life-saving.

❄️❤️‍🩹 And so it begins … friends, please give the (literal) warmest welcome to our new buddy, Linus ❤️‍🩹❄️

Like so many of you in animal welfare, we did not get to enjoy the beauty of the first snow of the season for long before we were slapped back to reality. Our friends at were out providing life-saving supplies to owned dogs this blustery morning@and came across this cold, wet, scared old man who had been hanging around the neighborhood for approximately one week. Nobody knew who he belonged to or where he came from.

There wasn’t a chance in hell that we were going to say ‘no’ to getting him to safety, and boy oh boy are we thankful to have him!

Linus is emaciated, incredibly dehydrated, filthy, has open pressure wounds and skin infections, is likely on the ‘senior side’ … and is 💯 darling 🥹

Linus received a full intake with labs, fluids and a warm bath, and is on a very strict re-feeding regimen. His only job right now is to rest and get big and strong, and soak up all of the love, while we continue to monitor and provide for him medically and emotionally.

Best days, sweet Linus. We’re so happy you’re safe and warm. Huge thanks to our friends at Dog Aide for bringing him to safety!

As always, we can only continue to save dogs like Linus ✨together✨. Any amount that you’re able to give toward his medically care is so, so greatly appreciated! As you will see in the coming days, Linus is far from the only dog that we’ve taken in recently in need of medical help. We will share their stories soon 🫶🏼🩵🙏 Thank you!

We were so stoked that independent.bank chose Bark Nation as one of their volunteer day nonprofits on the 13th!

Twelve amazing humans came out to our Pitness Protection shelter to help us make enrichment, sort donations, and love on our survivors! They also brought us physical donations of peanut butter and pumpkin and made an EXTREMELY generous donation of $2,500!!!

We cannot thank them enough for their willingness to roll up their sleeves, learn about our mission, and give back to the community in such an impactful way. Those funds went directly to the care of our survivors and the enrichment…went straight to their bellies and working their beautiful minds 🖤
