The Dog Cat Mouse comic strip with Familiar Strangers at Central Coast Renaissance Festival.

By now you should all know the Central Coast Renaissance Festival is this weekend. Here is the fourth of six comic strips from our Comic Strip Quest collection. Here are some clues to complete this part of our renaissance fair adventure. Other clues can be found on the Dog Cat Mouse Fandom page.

This story features our good friend from Familiar Strangers. The group is new to our comic strip but the characters of Haggis and Miss Behave are no strangers to Dog Cat Mouse. They have also joined the cast with The Billhillyz and Joust Kidding. They are also with other groups like Joust The Two Of Us, Zombie Salad, Barleycorn Country Dancers and only they know how many others. Come join Familiar Strangers with us as they participate in our quest for the fourth event this year. Also look for The Barleycorn Country Dancers too. I know I will and hopefully join them in a dance or two. Maybe we can even get Barleycorn to join our cast of characters some day soon.

This was originally posted on June 22, 2020 for the Koroneburg Renaissance Festival Online Event. It features the character Chef Cee of The Tempting Tarts, a regular in the Dog Cat Mouse Comic Strip Quest at many event since then. We bring this story back for their participation of the quest once again at the 2024 Central Coast Renaissance Festival. The Dog Cat Mouse comic strip with Under the Black Flag at Central Coast Renaissance Festival.

The Central Coast Renaissance Festival is next weekend. Here is the first of six comic strips from our Comic Strip Quest collection. This is your sneak peek at some clues to complete this part of our renaissance fair adventure. Other clues can be found on the Dog Cat Mouse Fandom page.

This story is the first comic strip to feature Under the Black Flag and their Buccaneer Boot Camp. It introduces the characters of Captain Calico Jack Rackham and Quartermaster Anne Bonney. All of us at Dog Cat Mouse have been working on this project with the Knights of Mayhem full contact jousting group. Follow the Dog Cat Mouse page for updates.

We have been collaborating with the Knights of Mayhem full contact jousting group the past few months to create a special edition chapbook. This series is planed to begin with a 16-page broadside format containing 4 or 5 stories with our usual 3-panel style, but these plans may change. The stories will also be created in our usual single story format so it can be shared on our websites as well.

Here is a sneak peek of this project. We hope to have this out for the Kearney Renaissance Faire in November but I am still waiting to hear if my application will be approved or if we need to do some negotiating.

Coming soon I hope to have some stories of actual animal rescues from Tulare County Renaissance Festival once I work out the detail with the fabulous true life heroes.

Dog Cat Mouse is still waiting for a reply from Koroneburg Renaissance Festival but we have made arrangements with Chapman Publications and The Guild of The Common Chaps to once again print our comic strip in the village newspaper the "Chappapers" all five weekends. Some of the stories my even get printed in chapbook format again to be sold at the Chapmans Book Shop but that is not yet confirmed.

I already have three stories drawn and submitted for publication but need two more. If any guilds, entertainers or venders plan to attend this years event and want to be supporting characters in a comic strip please sent me a message.

Dog Cat Mouse

Hello,

I am part of a trained animal act called Dog Cat Mouse. The three members of this group consist of my sister Rozzie (Dog), me (Cat) and my person Mouse, (pronounced Mouz), but I just call him Daddy. We perform as a street performers or stage act at Renaissance Fairs, Pirate Festivals, Western Events and other fairs in California and surrounding states. My sister and I can be seen at events wondering around in a little wooden wagon that our Daddy made for us.

In the show, our Daddy tells the story of the rare and dangerous Lion Dog (that’s my sister) and the rear and dangerous Blur Cat (that’s me). He goes on to tell the story of our amazing rescues as we act out the story. After our story we each perform some of our tricks. The show is followed by a meet and greet with me and Rozzie.
