Our Story

SHAZU is a combined name of two dogs we owned from almost 10 years ago, Sasha and Zulu. These two German Shepherds although not perfect, taught us a lot about dogs, bloodlines and temperament. It was these two dogs that developed our passion to seek for more and we felt it only right to have their names represent our kennel. They helped us realize that good temperament, health and nerves are very important traits that must be placed above all else when it comes to breeding and raising dogs. We quickly realized this once we found the difficulty in finding dogs that have a balance in the traits we wanted.

We are a small hobby kennel that have and will continue to seek for quality dogs, training and techniques to further our passion in breeding and training this beautiful breed known as the “German Shepherd Dog.” Our passion has seen us study and learn here in Australia and abroad to further our knowledge in raising and training dogs.

We strive to breed strong confident, social puppies that will grow into mature working dogs capable of being loving family members, as well true to the breed; a dog that is capable of doing serious work.

Through many of our local and international training & breeding contacts, we have been focused on bio-sensory stimulation and enrichment in developing our puppies for years now. These techniques have been incorporated by many of our dog industry friends abroad who have been successful in their field of work e.g. sports, police, and security k9 handlers.
